People have been able to travel from the EF to the real world though (Neal/Emma). She just wasn't brought there by a curse. Since her M.O was revealed this episode I'm assuming that she's been on this search for a loving family for a while. If you think of the fact that Elsa released her from the jar before Emma was even born or her parents even met. So she's been out and trying to make this plan happen for at least 30 odd years.
I do wonder what the significance of the mirrors is. Aside from The Evil Queen, I can't think of mirrors being a thing tied to another character or disney villain.
But can we take a moment to say how brilliant the actress playing her is. I am adoring her quiet and confident evil. Every other villain played up evil passion, but her coldness (pun intended) makes her so much more unsettling. She might be my favourite big bad so far.
) but so far it's good; a bit slow but good. I love how calm and collected the Snow Queen is as a villain, which makes me like her even though she's the villain.
