Day 12: The Finale
With only seven alive, the survivors glanced around, shocked to discover that they had actually all survived the night. Shocked, the seven stared at each other, glancing from person to person while sitting on top of their sleeping bags.
Finally, someone spoke.
"We're... all alive," Doc said nervously, biting his lower lip. He tapped his fingers on his sleeping bag, and something was hard underneath it. He continued to tap his fingers on it, glancing from person to person.
"Does... this mean something?" Anna began to stand up, glancing around. Her eyes were red, her hair messy. "Did the slashers just give up or something?"
"The bigger question is," Matty spoke up. "Are we ever going to get out of here?"
"HOW are we supposed to get out of here?!" Pika snapped, spinning around to face Matty. "The bridge collapsed after Roc escaped. The water's far too dangerous to swim over. We don't have our phones or ****, and we're stuck here. Does anyone even know we're out here? How are we supposed to get back? How to we call for help? How?!"
"You... should probably calm down." Doc signed, propping his chin up on his hand. "So far, the seven of us survived the night, and we should just... stay calm. We shouldn't kill anyone today, regardless if we think they're a slasher. It's better to just wait it out and see if someone would ever go searching for us."
"Except no one even knows we're out here," Anna grumbled, hanging some of her clothes up on a tree branch. "We're basically stuck out here until we get fo--"
Anna's words got drowned out by a very, very loud noise. The sound of a helicopter above them.
The seven turned to look upwards. A helicopter was immediately above them, and staying very, very still! The person inside obviously could tell they were there!
The seven began to yell out to it.
"HEY!" / "COME GET US!" / "HELP!" / "COME HERE!"
The survivors began to wave their arms furiously, jumping up and down to attract the helicopter's attention.
"I already see you, you crazy ****s," a woman's voice came from the chopper through a megaphone. "I'm looking for a clearing on the island to get you. Just wait a moment."
Doc and Matty seemed to recognize the voice. They turned to stare right at each other.
"Is that... K...?" Doc began. Matty responded with a thrilled nod.
The helicopter began to move North.
"FOLLOW HER!" Doc yelled, and the seven began to run towards the helicopter, desperate to keep up with it and make it to their escape.
Though, behind them, Doc and Monk lagged far behind...
Eventually, the survivors followed the helicopter to a clearing near the bathroom building, right near where several people were killed. Anna, Matty and pika ran right up to the helicopter while Boyonce, Sebas, Doc & Monk stayed right at the entrance to the bathroom building.
The helicopter lowered itself onto the ground, and through the window, the campers could see a woman with long, brown hair. She stopped the helicopter, though the blades continued to rotate.
Anna and pika turned to each other, hugging each other tightly in happiness that they finally could escape.
The woman stepped out of the helicopter, and Matty and Doc immediately recognized her.
"KATIE!" the two yelled out in excitement.
"Who else?" Katie scoffed, taking off her headset and glancing over the seven. At her waist, a pistol was tucked into a holster. "Interesting story... Some friend of yours, Roc, ran into town... Everyone was freaking out, and I knew you all were with him, so I asked him what happened... Apparently, there were a ton of you and some killers or something? Like, what kind of horror movie setup was this ****?"
Despite the sad events that previously occurred, all of the seven burst out laughing a little bit at the last line before bursting out in tears of happiness that they were saved...
Until, suddenly, at the bathroom building, Doc and Monk YANKED out knives and STABBED Sebas in the chest!
"NO!" Anna screamed.
Instinctively, Katie yanked out her pistol and SHOT both of them! Doc recoiled, getting shot in the shoulder while Monk was shot right in the chest. Both Monk and Sebas fell down to the ground, dead.
"Oh, my God." Katie, Anna and Matty ran up to Doc, Sebas and Monk. Doc clutched his wounded shoulder, glancing around and hyperventilating.
"Roc... wasn't kidding, was he?" Katie looked up at Matty in both shock and horror. "How many people have died here?"
"At... at least twenty," Anna said, biting her lip. "And now... I'd say like twenty two... There were twenty-seven of us..."
"And Roc survived..." Katie bit her lip, and began to apply pressure to Doc's shoulder. "Chris... What the **** are you thinking?!"
Katie then turned around to face Pika. "Dude... can you get my first aid kit in the 'copter? I've got some gauze and **** in there."
Pika stood, shocked for a moment, before he suddenly bolted into the helicopter. However, instead of getting the first-aid kit, he sat in the pilot's seat and SLAMMED the door ****.
"What the ****?!" Anna cried out.
"SCREW ALL OF YOU!" Pika yelled, showing more signs of his breakdown the other night. "At least one other of you is a killer! I'm not letting you ****ers kill me!"
"YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO FLY THAT!" Katie screamed, rising up. She ran over towards the helicopter and attempted to open the door, but it began to RISE! She quickly jumped back to avoid being hurt.
Pika's flying skills were obviously weak. The helicopter rose a little bit, and began to move forward.
It wasn't high enough to clear the trees.
"HOW THE **** DO I WORK THIS?!" Pika screamed, slamming down on various buttons and knobs and other mechanics of the vehicle. The helicopter began to spin, the blades circling madly and sending the helicopter moving in twisting in clunky, jerky moves.
Suddenly, the copter jerked forward, and went flying at some of the trees.
"Oh, ****," Matty gasped, placing a hand on his forehead with one hand and grabbing Katie's wrist with the other.
The five watched as the helicopter, with Pika in it, SLAMMED into one of the trees and recoiled before CRASHING down into the ravine that Drowned_World was killed in!
The helicopter hit the bottom with a large BOOM, with fire and smoke everywhere.
Anna screamed, and she, Katie, Matty and Boyonce ran to the edge of the ravine to see if Pika possibly had made it. Doc stayed in his position, clutching his wounded shoulder and nearly crying due to the pain.
At the edge of the ravine, it was obvious that Pika couldn't have survived the crash.
"Oh, my God," Katie went on. "This isn't happening... This isn't happening..."
"Do you at least have some ****ing backup?" Boyonce turned to Katie. His eyes searched Katie's face, scanning her to see if he could find the answer in her expression without her saying it. "Anyone that could come and save us?"
Katie began to shake her head slowly. Tears showed at the corners of her eyes.
"So we're back to ****ing square one!" Anna shrieked. "We're stuck on this island, and three people have died now... I don't wanna die here... I can't ****ing die here..." Anna began to walk off, headed in the direction of the fallen bridge where both Gavin and Monte had been killed.
"I'll go bring her back," Matty said calmly.
"Matt!" Katie exclaimed, grabbing him by his wrist. "Who the hell is she to you?" Katie stared at Matty, not breaking their stare.
"She's just... a friend." Matty said. He moved forward, locking lips with Katie passionately for a moment. "We can't let anyone else die."
"Fine", Katiei responded. "I'll... go check on Chris." She walked back around to the entrance to the bathhouse. "Boyonce or whatever your name is... You stay right there unless I call you."
Down the road, Anna kept running, covering her face with her hands.
"This isn't ****ing happening..." She repeated, quoting Katie's words from earlier. "This isn't happening. I'm not dying here. This isn't happening."
Matty ran, attempting to follow her, but she was too far head of him. She was barely in sight.
Back at the bathroom building, Katie approached the entrance to find... Doc was gone. There was a splatter of blood where his shoulder was, but he... was missing. Sebas and Monk's bodies were in place, with Monk's knife missing.
"Jesus ****ing Christ," Katie groaned. "Great. Chris is a killer, and now he and a knife are missing. This **** can't get any ****ing worse."
At the fallen bridge, Anna ran around the felled tree where Gavin died, and she stood at the water's edge. Matty came up behind her, far out of breath.
"You run fast, girl," Matty gasped. "Did you run track or something?"
"****in' adrenaline," Anna sobbed, staring at the road on the other side of the river. "And escape... is so close... Yet this ****ing river..." Anna sobbed, spinning around and resting her face on Matty's shoulder. "I don't... wanna die here. I can't die on an island away from everyone else."
"It's... fine," Matty said, stroking Anna's back. He ran his fingers through her hair gently, and with his other hand, pulled a hunting knife out of his back pocket. "It'll all be over... soon."
Anna kept her head in place, moving her eyes to look at him lifting the knife... And she quickly KNEED Matty in the groin!
"OOF!" Matty jumped back, doubling over in pain and nearly stabbing himself in the leg.
"YOU!" Anna screamed. "YOU'RE ONE OF THEM!" She quickly ran back towards the main camp, but turned and ran right into the woods near where Monte's body was.
Back at the bathroom building, Katie stormed around behind the building where Boyonce was.
"Doc is ****ing gone," she groaned. "That means we have to--"
She stopped talking when she heard a sound like beat being sliced. Around the corner of the building, boyonce's body fell to the ground, his head and arm resting limp in sight. Katie gasped, covering her mouth.
Doc stumbled into view, still holding his shoulder with his left hand and holding a bloody knife with his right.
"I have... to kill Anna," Doc spoke, his voice hoarse. "She's the last one left. Everyone else is dead... Her... and you." He rose the knife, and began to approach Katie rapidly.
"LIKE **** YOU ARE!" Katie spun around and ran down the road where Anna and Matty were.
Back in the woods, Anna ran from Matty, but tripped over something. She fell down, and then realized what she had tripped over: Monte's body! Matty approached her, standing up straight this time and the knife in hand.
"You made it far, Anna," he said with a smirk. "You were helpful. You led people to kill nearly as many people as we could've killed on our own... But now, it's time... for you to die."
Matty sent the knife down, intending to STAB Anna in the chest, but instead...
He found he stabbed the knife into Monte's back!
Anna had pulled Monte's body forward, using it as a human shield!
Matty began to pull the knife back out, but Anna kicked Monte's body upward, hitting Matty in the head with Monte's head and sending both Matty and the body flying backward.
Pinned underneath the body, Matty was helpless.
"Now," Anna gasped, breathing lightly. "I could kill you myself... But I think... it's better to just let nature handle you. Karma's a ****in' bitch... You shouldn't have done it."
Anna stomped down on Monte's body, indirectly hurting Matty, and she began to walk back to the bathroom building.
Down the road, Katie continued to run away from Doc who brandished the knife, holding it above his head, ready to stab Katie.
Suddenly, behind Doc, a pack of wolves appeared... The same wolves that had attacked and wounded one of the previous campers. The wolves motivated Doc to run faster... And he did. He continued to chase Katie until she, without looking, SLAMMED into the back of the SUV Gavin's dead body was in.
"JESUS ****!" she screamed, clutching her nose that was, without a doubt, broken from the impact. "OH, MY GOD!"
Doc continued to run up to her, the wolves right behind him... And Katie grabbed her pistol, then SHOT Doc in the leg!
Doc hit the ground, hard. The wolves stopped behind him from the gunshot, scared to move forward. Katie continued to aim the gun around, scared to shoot anyone or anything.
"Now... ****ing stay there..." Katie said. She fired another shot into Doc's other knee, rendering him completely immobile. Doc SCREAMED out in pain, and moved to hold his knee... But as soon as he moved, one of the wolves approached him. He fought it off with the knife, slicing its ear off. The other wolves stayed back, but looked ready... Ready to pounce.
At the edge of the island, near the remnants of the collapsed bridge, Anna and Katie ran into each other.
"YOU!" Katie screamed, holding her nose with one hand and the gun with the other. "ARE YOU... GONNA TRY AND ****ING KILL ME, TOO?!" She stared at Anna, her eyes spinning around wildly. "HUH?!"
"No!" Anna gasped, her hands sticking out defensively. "I'm safe! I'm not trying to hurt anyone!"
Anna lowered the gun...
But back at the crushed car, something went BANG!
Both girls screamed and turned to face it. Something went BANG again, and one of the back doors opened...
"What the... Hell?" Anna tilted her head. "The Hell is THAT?!"
Suddenly, out of the back door... GAVIN STEPPED OUT! His hair was matted down with blood, scratches covered his body and pieces of skin hung off of him loosely. His clothes were soaked in his own blood.
"I ****ING MADE IT!" he cried out, turning to face the two women.
"Oh, my God... Gavin!" Anna gasped, covering her mouth...
Gavin approached the two before he collapsed on the ground, obviously in shock.
"How the hell did you make it?" Anna sat down, resting Gavin's head in her lap...
The three stared at each other, and Katie got down on her knees to hug them both. They had survived...
They had made it.
From the distance, the sound of two men yelling echoed out...
Were Matty and Doc... still alive?
... the end.

It all got really exciting near the end, and even though the Campers didn't win this one, it was still an awesome and fun experience.
This was my favorite game I've ever played on ATRL. Thanks everyone who made it so entertaining and fun, and thank you Robbie for hosting
