Singer Demi Lovato challenged her fans Friday morning to unlock her lyric video for "Heart Attack" by tweeting words from the new single along with "#UnlockHeartAttack."
The hashtag quickly became a worldwide trending topic on Twitter and remained in the top spot up until Lovato's camp unleashed the video (watch above).
"Demi has some of the most passionate and supportive fans in the world and we wanted to do something new for them," a Hollywood Records spokesperson told Mashable.
Lovato's call to action included a link to UnlockHeartAttack.com, which displayed lyrics and the number of times each word had been tweeted.
Lovato's people told Mashable the threshold to unlock it was at least 100,000.
This is what I was thinking about them. They realized that Demi's fans would do anything for Demi especially on twitter, so they used lovatics to trend this so every twitter users around the world could see it. They're smart.
Judging from these few days it seems like HA is gonna be a lot bigger than GYHAB & Skyscraper were!!
Yup
and things might not look AMAZING on iTunes in the US right now, but if we remember how GYHAB had to climb out of nowhere and still made the top 15. And Heart Attack is more loved by the general public and is much less of a grower than Heart Attack.
I can't wait for the moment where she will stabilize on iTunes and it'll hopefully be in the top 20.
Even if heart attack falls on iTunes more than skyscraper did (which I don't think it will) will it still do better on billboard cause of radio support and the YouTube views? I don't remember the rules when skyscraper came out
Heart Attack increased +200 spins from yesterday or something like this. That means she got 200 spins yesterday. In 7 days this makes 1400 spins which would be #33 on the Pop radio charts already.
