Omg, I just typed up a fabulous ranking of these (semi) underrated performances, but the damn server logged me out as I was submitting the post. Does that happen to anyone else? I've gone thru the same dilemma on at least 3 other occasions.
Anyway, VMA>Bambi>BBMA, in terms of "Britney Spark"; and Bambi>BBMA=VMA, in terms of overall look (stage aesthetic, costume design, hair/ make-up, etc).

2008 Bambi Awards perf was flawless 
Such a shame she couldn't keep that up the whole Circus era

I remember how excited I was when I knew she was going to perform at the VMAs in 2007. Even after the performance ended, I didn't think she was that bad. I used to stan so HARD.

^ idk guys. VMAs may have been sloppy, but she definitely found her groove during the second verse, and pretty much nailed the dance break. "Britney" style. Everything fell back apart after the non-lift tho. Idek what happened there, but her entire demeanor changed.

I find it that way too, when the second verse started, she started to dance better and you could see she somehow felt confident. That performance is better than anything she's been doing since the FF tour. She didn't use to move her hands that much before FF.

Idk if it's a problem of excessive armography (cause lbr, she's always employed her upper half more than her lower when it comes to the style of her dance), but rather a lack of fluidity. Like you said, she FELT that second verse. Something in the way she strode around stage, and connected all of her movements - albeit briefly - simply looked fluid.
Ever since FF, even on her best days, there's been a type of stiffness to the way she moves. It's like she kinda forgot her rhythm.
EDIT: I forgot her return to form during the Fantasy Twist shoot. T'was the last time we saw fluid Britney imo

Confidence is basically the foundation for sexiness, boo. The fact that she constantly looks down at the stage during POM is... Idek. It's not a good look, that much is sure.

She has her times when she slays..there r many perf with fluidy  britney....we dont have t overeact...
Because she acted over the edge in vma perf and she grabbed her dancers dick that doesnt mean it was sexy or she slayed...

She used to employed her upper half more before too, but she used to move her lower too and she looked good. It's a matter of confidence, she used to dance along her dancers, now it seems like they're in control and she's behind them. She needs to start going to the dance studio frequently, like she used to do before, that would help her get her confident back. I agree that it looks like she's lost her rhythm.
