It's a great film and the acting in it from all the three co-superstars is top tier. Plus it was a surprise commercial success, so that always helps.

Not saying that she doesn't, it was just so out there and no one predicted it. I love it when these things become random and no one plays by the rules.

2012 seemed so promising when Affleck and Bigelow (sigh) were snubbed and Haneke and Zeitlin were nominated (for no reason because everything just became as predictable as possible).

Critics were too harsh on Maleficent imho. It's certainly better than abysmal failures like Oz: The Great and Powerful. I even liked it more than Snow White and the Huntsman.
