The main topic these days is gay rights. She's had enough exposure to smack any Southern hate out of her.

I know what you're referring to, and no, it wasn't specifically about that. She was smart then by dodging the question by merely saying "we must stick together", but I remember reading somewhere she also
voted for Bush, and like santos said, she's from the South, her home state SCREAMS "red", if you know what I mean.
Oh, I'd like to believe she's had "enough exposure" about anything that Romney speaks against, but I don't think she's that much of a political animal - I think she votes for her roots and that's it.

Britney made the right call back in 2003, saying what she said about President Bush. Did y'all not see what happened to Madonna and the Dixie Chick's careers (in the US) after they spoke out?

The Dixie Chicks are country, when you think about "country music" you basically think about the Republican states, so that's why they're dead until now.
Madonna, though? After that she's had the most successful solo tour EVER and sold millions of records. I don't think her career was affected at all - aside from the "American Life" video backlash - but she survived it pretty fine, I must say, and that album and video remain top notch, regardless of its lack of US success.
And well, I'd rather Britney to stand up for what she thinks and have a flop album - which she had last era anyway

- than not saying anything out of fear.
But well, we know Britney is not the kind of person that says much about her decisions and points of view, so we probably won't ever know anything for sure.
