"Walking on Air" and "Dark Horse" already got their due as promo singles and quite frankly, they're not that strong and there are other/better songs that need to be showcased.
We already have "Roar" and "Unconditionally" out of the way so that leaves us LL, "Birthday," TIHWD, IS, and "Ghost." That's our winner's circle right there. We won't get 7 singles though so the latter two will probably stay album-only.
This Is How We Do is not getting a single release. Screen Shot Me, Print Me off, Put Me In A Filing Cabinet Marked "Benjamin's Predictions".
Or just bookmark me. Whichever is easier.
I wonder why Katy performed "This Moment" at her album launch party, it's a very random album track to perform. Could she be considering it as a single?

Everyone seems to be on the same page with Birthday, so that HAS to be a single.
One thing tho, you say the uptempo songs need to be in play, and then you list Dark Horse as 3rd. Birthday would be much better for a return to form single choice, regardless of present sales. They can always do an E.T.-like remix for that and gain back those sales.
I admit TIHWD is a bit tacky... And the lyrics are very specific, compared to LFN which were vague.
The Santa Barbara references might not click with a lot of people... It's clicked with fans because we live vicariously through our fave and we understand the cute lyrics, but for a lot of people it's just confusing
