Lol. Don't pay attention, this is obvious trolling disguised as a "review" in here. At the end of the day, they poured their soul out on this essay that nobody really cares about
OT: Mrs. Potato Head is definitely becoming my favorite on the album.

The lyrics in Mrs. Potato Head are so REAL. It's kind of insane how much they relate to this current generation and everyone's obsessive nature with looking good, even if it means going under the knife.

I don't hear or see anything original in her. She has the sound of Lorde with the lyrics & imagery of Natalia Kills. Every song on this album sounds nearly the same. Moody synths & mid-tempo beats while she tries to sound lyrically edgy by dropping "f**k" in multiple choruses. It does come off as juvenile, but not in a complimentary way that has anything to do with the concept of her album.
She tries so hard to sound tortured, but she's only 20 years old, fresh from X Factor, & neck deep into Tumblr culture, so all I'm really getting is from her is Sad Emo Girl At The Mall On The Weekend Crying In Front of A Cinnabon For No Reason. I don't think that's what she was going for.
I think this is one of those albums where it's cool to like it from the age of 17-20, but then when you grow up a little bit more, you realize how embarrassing it all was. I wonder if she'll feel the same way.
I would willingly give her creativity points for the concept of her album, but I can't because the lyrics are the bland melodrama one would expect just by looking at her. It's obvious she came up with the song titles beforehand & tried to write songs around them. What's supposed to be edgy only comes off as boring, unfortunately.
Wishing her luck, though. I think she'll need it.

Not you calling out the crying-mall-crowd when you're literally oozing stereotypical 16-20s i''m-so-much-smarter-than-the-rest-of-my-generation-and-I-also-took-a-philosophy-class-two-years-ago hopefully you'll look back at this post and be embarrassed some day, pseudo-intellectual ********, man.
ANYWAY, on topic:
I love this album. Mrs. Potatoe Head is probably my favorite lyrically, and Cry Baby, sonically.

That review comparing Melanie to Natalia
I'm perched for what real critics have to say cause those YT Album Reviewers seem to love it
trinity: Teddy Bear, Milk and Cookies, & Tag, You're It

Oop I agree with this part
I think you made some (not all) valid points in the review and people are too quick to defend what might be their new favorite album of 2015, but that being said I looooove this album
My trinity atm is probably Mad Hatter, Tag You're It, and Training Wheels... and Soap... and Sippy Cup... and Pity Party... and Mrs. Potato Head... and
okay this whole album is amazing

But she said it herself that she came up with titles and wrote around it.
I do it sometimes. There's nothing wrong with it. Actually, it's quite helpful, brings up really good things.

Yeah for sure, I know plenty of artists that do that, but I think on SOME songs (not all) it limited her.

Where do you guys think this will peak on the Billboard 200? Does she have a chance to debut inside the top 5?

Can anyone tell me where I can get the storybook physical edition in Germany?
The last album released that slayed this heart was Electra Heart. I'm so impressed and I didn't know her 2 days ago.

I agree. I worked on most of the songs, but Milk and Cookies for example is lyrically weak tbh. Of course I don't know if she had the title idea before writing the track but still.
Otherwise her songwriting is pretty much completely on point.

I'm not trolling. My review took me 3 minutes which, unfortunately, doesn't make up for the time I wasted listening to this album. All you need is 1 track & you've heard it all... & then again, everything she's done has been done before... & better.
But I'm glad you guys like the album & stan for her. I don't see the gimmick lasting long.
