The Game was 4th in the 18-49 demo. It's only .1 point behind 90210 in the demo. It also had higher viewership than 90210 for the past three weeks. The CW seriously needs to renew this show. They'll lose a lot of black viewers, if they cancel it but The CW seems like they don't care about their black viewers.

I wasn't trying to rationalize anything. I was just saying the CW would be dumb to cancel The Game, since it's currently getting higher ratings than 90210. 90210 is one of the CW's most advertsied and promoted shows. The CW lounge at cwtv.com is filled with threads and posts about why The Game should stay on the air. The CW is trying to get rid of all their black shows. First, it was All Of Us, then Girlfriends, and now Everybody Hates Chris and The Game.

All of Us was cancelled cause it wasnt performing as well as Girlfriends and The Game
Girlfriends was losing raitings and rising costs led it to be cancelled.
Everybody Hates Chris and The Game aren't performing well and the CW is devoting its time to the 18-35 demo which these two comedies do not perform as well in. I dont think they should be cancelled at all. Airing them after Americas Next Top Model would be a great alternative or even before ANTM
But I'm not running the CW lol

The Game and Everybody Hates Chris lost ratings because it was moved to Friday. Nobody is home on Friday nights. The Game is increasing in ratings and its demo. They should've aired on Wednesday after ANTM, instead of 90210 repeats. 90210 repeats should've aired after the ANTM repeats.
I think the CW purposely moved Everybody Hates Chris and The Game to Fridays to sabotage their ratings.

Box Office Report: 'Star Trek' soars with $72.5 mil debut

J.J. Abrams' franchise reboot boldly went where no Star Trek movie has gone before, grossing a stellar $72.5 mil from Friday through Sunday, according to early estimates by Hollywood.com Box Office.

That's the second-best opening of 2009 (after X-Men Origins: Wolverine's $85.1 mil last weekend), and it includes a whopping $8.2 mil earned in IMAX showings, a new one-weekend record for the large format (beating The Dark Knight's $6.3 mil). What's more, if you add in the $4 mil that the movie starring Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto earned in late-Thursday showings, Star Trek has banked an impressive $76.5 mil so far -- well ahead of most expectations.

This result is highly logical. Considering all the hype and buzz and strong reviews that Star Trek has garnered, it's no surprise that this film's opening sum is by far the biggest of any Star Trek movie: Of the nine previous flicks in the franchise, 1996's Star Trek: First Contact bowed best, with (only) $30.7 mil over three days. Moreover, a look at the movie's CinemaScore report card reveals some potentially good news. While it drew an expected crowd mostly comprised of older males, Star Trek's solid-A grade shows that word of mouth could be strong enough to bring in fans outside of the franchise's usual demographic (i.e. people who weren't alive in the 1980s...and women) as the weeks go on. Unless said folks are too distracted by Angels & Demons, Night at the Museum 2, and all the other big flicks on tap, of course.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine (No. 2) was next with $27 mil on a 68 percent decline. Fanboy-driven films always fall hard, but this drop is particularly hefty. Nevertheless, Hugh Jackman's franchise flick has already banked $129.6 mil in 10 days.

Fellow holdovers Ghosts of Girlfriends Past (No. 3 with $10.5 mil), Obsessed (No. 4 with $6.6 mil), and 17 Again (No. 5 with $4.4 mil) rounded out the top five. And the comedy Next Day Air failed to take off, grossing just $4 mil at No. 6.

And in limited release, neither Rudo y Cursi nor Little Ashes made much of a mark, as each averaged well under $7,000 per theater.

Overall, the box office was up nearly 22 percent from the same frame a year ago (when the infamous Speed Racer hit a bump in the road). And, really, what could be a better Mother's Day gift than that? Love ya, Mom! Have a great day!

I've been wondering lately, cause I really don't want that to happen cause I like some of their shows... But should we worry about CW? I mean, is there any chance the channel will 'close its doors' if their ratings stay as horrible as they are?

Start Trek did a lot better than I could think, though. I predicted like 50 million for its first weekend.

I think NBC has a better chance of closing its doors than The CW. :-/

CW will be in danger if this next season does not go over well
NBC will not be going anywhere for a while. This is just a cycle almost all stations experience. The last one to get hurt was ABC but it recovered with the addition of Greys Lost and Desperate Housewives. NBC just needs 2-3 breakout shows next season and they'll be fine.
The CW on the other hand has to ditch its girls 18-35 target demo and put out quality shows which people will actually watch.
