I know this is kinda repetitive but... I'm feeling it, for real. People have been slating this show since S2 yet I stuck around and loved it so obsessively despite it, but Season 4 is not the show I feel in love with and there's no inkling of it left.

The premise of a Emily vs Victoria season seemed shallow storyline wise (22 episodes dedicated to this don't seem anything but repetitive) but nevertheless the back and forth between them in a catty showdown amongst the Hampton's socialites like the old seasons (exception of some parts of Season 2, but it a properly relevant story so it's excused) >>> this weird irrelevant mob leader storyline or w/e. The premise is interesting, but it's implemented so shoddily that the focus of the show has changed in this season atleast 3 times, first Emily vs Victoria, then David's revenge and now 'Revengers Assemble vs Malcolm Black'. If it just stuck with the Emily vs Victoria it would've been a bit more truer to it's roots.

This show and the writers have NO IDEA where this show is going and it's obvious, and the pace they're going at is only going to harm the show, imo. I think they need to slow down a bit. They need to give room for character development and some gradual and natural progression to come into play because I personally feel as if a lot of these "twists" and story changes feel forced and unnecessary (I'll admit that this problem plagued Season 3 too). Season 1 wasn't amazingly paced (and I'll admit that S4 is actually going at an amazing pace versus it) yet it remains the best season of this show because it found a decent pace to build tension and give a reason to actually be SHOCKED. Modern episodes are just trying to hard and they need to slow down, jesus. We have 10 episodes left of the show (possibly and HOPEFULLY), I don't want them to rush things and go to the extremes because they have nothing left.

Nevertheless, I still enjoy 'Revenge' and still anticipate each new episode, but it's mainly due to my attachment to the characters and my previous obsession. If this was S2 or 3, I would've bailed fast. I will say though that Season 4 was actually really good for the most part till episode 8. I will continue to watch to see how this goes. Hopefully the show gets an interesting ending.

If you want a show about socialites going head to head with each other go watch Real Housewives. This season so far is amazing, I love action Emily. I can't wait for next week!

A returning ABC series that has been finding it harder and harder to hold an audience, Revenge, is not in immediate danger of cancellation. Lee noted a ratings uptick in the episodes leading to the fall finale and noted that Revenge is more than a show, “it’s a critical brand for us.” While short of saying that Revenge would be coming back, Lee noted that “we have some great storylines coming up” and that “there is a way to reinvent the show.” After the session he noted that Revenge was originally picked as a limited series but at the time that was not a model the network was pursuing.

Such a polarizing set of responses...which pretty much sums up my stance on the show overall.

Each season since the 2nd has had moments that have been genuinely amazing and others that have been cancellation worthy. Season 4 is no different.

Like others have said, the beginning of S4 showed a lot of promise and really could have been a rebirth for the show (important given the initial backlash after the David Clarke alive twist at end of S3). But this mob storyline is crazy and the intro of it is shockingly sh*t (e.g. no setup for Malcolm Black and his daughter). The writers have no focus and it shows in the most painful way.

It would take a small miracle to redeem the story at this point, which is sad given that a semi-pointless story arc (mob garbage) will likely feature in the end of a show that has had nothing to do with that.

Saying that, season 4 is only at half way point, so there could be a turn-around and part of me wants it to defy the odds and somehow get renewed for a fifth run...even if a mini season to right some of this season's wrongs.

Revenge has and always will be my show for YEARS!!!!! It's the best thing I've seen in terms of TV all my life, I mean I bought the DVDs after watching the seasons and i just go over it sometimes in my spare time but this Malcolm Black story needs to just STOP!

I mean, I know Ems and the writers have said that revenge is a very hard topic to take this long, hell, it's been 4 seasons and it's cuz of that reason that I give them a pass.


Besides, I think we can all agree that REVENGE ended in Season 3 with that epic scene of Ems walking out of the institution.

All we're getting now is bonus track. Things to just keep our favorite Revenge characters on out TV screens every Sunday and honestly, this season has not been bad AT ALL! That Ems/Kate fight down is one of the best scenes I've seen in the show.

However, this Malcolm Black storyline is just unnecessary, it's like, just stop! But don't forget that this is Revenge and they start and end B and C story lines LIKE THAT!

So stay patient revengers...this Malcolm Black story is just a smaller picture of an even bigger story to come. It just might be the big reveal of Amanda to the world...we just have to wait and see.
