I wouldn't say Kelly's irrelevant. When it comes to her music, people actually listen to it, and albums/singles are being bought, so clearly people like her and her music and that makes her relevant and successful after now 12 years in the business.
I think the main issue with KC is that when it comes to "Who's talking about what celebrity?", she's not one of the most talked-about celebrities. For various reasons; she's not a Hollywood glamour girl, she's not a diva, she's not one of the artists that "sells out" and makes her name into a brand, and I as a fan like the fact that she's not all those things, I mean our girl is down-to-earth, she's charismatic, and she's all about the music, which is what it's really about. The problem is, when your face is not on the covers of magazines, or marketed in sponsorships, or your song isn't blasted on the radio every 3 minutes (like some selected artists today), people do seem to wonder where you are and if you're still doing music
