The Script is here once again with the 3rd single from Science & Faith. If You Ever Come Back is another highlight from their sophomore album and I instantly fell in love with this song. This one talks about a break up and wanting to be back together with that person, even if it still means being trapped in that hell that is the ending of a relationship. He's willing to put up with her giving him the cold shoulder, a hard time, and actually being able to wish the relationship was over. Lead singer Danny O'Donoghue nailed the verses so well with his falsetto bringing this song its life. This is one of my jams after the success of Nothing and that’s why it charted this high on my list. The Script definitely knew how to provide beautiful songs and If You Ever Come Back is a good example of it.

The Loud era has been a great period in Rihanna’s career and now it’s time to move on the next. For the Talk That Talk era, I don’t know what to expect. The lead single We Found Love became an instant smash hit to start another era. At first, I didn’t really like this as the chorus is quite repetitive and there is less lines in the songs. It took me a few weeks and I could not avoid We Found Love in the radios and thus it resulting me to love this song. The Calvin Harris production on the entire song is just so flawless, the beat is so irresistible and you cannot help to dance with that beat. As for the music video, Rihanna shows the bad side of being in love; being involved in drugs, cigarettes, etc. It clearly showed how her relationship with Chris Brown went on as she teamed up with a Chris Brown look alike. The song is Rihanna’s biggest hit so far. It spent 8 weeks at the top spot and it is still on the top 2 today plus making it her 11th #1 song overall in the Billboard Hot 100. Rihanna is just so unstoppable; she won’t stop making hit after hit until she surpasses Mariah Carey. In a couple of years, we’ll see if she can already break that record.

Barely missing the top 20 is one of the phenomenal hit by female rap superstar Nicki Minaj, Super Bass. What can I Say? Just like Rihanna, Nicki Minaj is everywhere last year, from being as a featured artist in so many smash hits and with her own smash singles as well. Super Bass is definitely her biggest hit so far and her signature song as well. Nicki nailed those damn lyrics so well challenging everyone to sing it as good and as fast as her. Even though the highlight of Super Bass is the catchy chorus, the first and second parts are also epic. I envy those people who really memorized those lines and delivered it like Nicki. Personally, this is my most favorite song from her that I will always remember. Nicki Minaj has been in the music scene for just two years but she proves that she can be in line with veterans Missy Elliott and Lil’ Kim. I’m looking forward for more of her craziness on different features as well as her new album due this year.
