I know I was thinking the same! Taste of country loves taylor so much.
It's nice to see that country music seems to still love Taylor, and will never stop loving her even if she's going to do pop music for a while. I have a feeling that when she's older & wants to make a folk/country album they'll welcome her back with open arms.
Don't hate on The Giver. It wasn't that bad. And Taylor did well, despite her time being far too short. The movie has been in limbo for years and years--they've tried to make it consistently and its always fallen through. I read the book in 2005 and I remember being pumped for the movie. It's nine years later and I'm finally seeing it.
It's just coming out in a time where the market is oversaturated with movies just like this (ironically enough, all which basically borrowed from The Giver.) So it gets lost in the shuffle because its a 21 year old book that, while popular, doesn't have the backing that things like THG and Divergent are getting right now. To younger kids these days, they probably think The Giver ripped them off.
I thought they did a nice job with the movie and I enjoyed it.
I think it'll always be one of her signature hits.
