GA wasn't full

I'm sad to disappoint you guys, but that picture was taken months ago, during the European leg of the tour. It was most probably taken during on of the 2 shows she had in Antwerp at Sportpaleis, because that's a really big arena (hence the massive GA crowd). The arena hold 17k per concert, which is more than an usual arena, and since she almost sold out both dates, that's why it looks so packed...It's definitely Sportpaleis...
Besides the fact that I already saw this picture months ago, the MGM Grand Garden Arena (where she performed in Las Vegas) has a much lower capacity and a GA 3 times smaller than that one. Just take a look at this picture taken during her first show in Las Vegas:
You can clearly see how the GA isn't even that wide, it can't even fit people within the right and left part of the monster pit (how you can see in the picture you thought was from Las Vegas) and people are only standing behind the monster pit. And it ain't that packed, just check youtube videos

I think you are right... MGM Grand Arena only holds 12-13k per show.. but it will be probably one of the biggest grosses or the biggest gross of the North American leg..

Lady Gaga, Semi Precious Weapons
Rose Garden
Portland, Ore.
Aug. 19, 2010
$1,386,255
13,149 /
13,149

$175, $49.50
Live Nation
i think it wasn't sold out.. portland is a small town.. i don't think she is able to sold out a small city like that when she had performed in cities close to it like Vancouver or Tacoma... I know some people will say sh*t about the stage is bigger and blah blah blah
i really don't think it was sold out.. the price tickets were the same.. and the average per ticket was smaller in BTWB.. which means that less expensive tickets were bought.. so.. it wasn't sold out
Rose Garden Portland 8,853 / 8,853 (100%) $791,496 - AVERAGE 89 USD
Rose Garden Portland 13,149 / 13,149 (100%) $1,386,255 - AVERAGE 105 USD
And if she grossed 1.4 milion in Monster Ball..do you really think Live Nation would add a date thinking it would gross almost half than that? They probably thought it would gross almost the same.. they wouldn't add it thinking it would gross just 791.496

Omg, stop comparing the two tours. The BTWB's stage is literally twice the size as the MB's stage, meaning less people to fit in the arena.
It was sold out, the way they sell tickets ensures a sold out crowd.

In some arenas.. she sold more for BTWB than for MB.. which means that this theory doesn't work.. it's all about demand.. if is really big.. they add limited view.. seats behind the stage.. they add as much as possible tickets for GA..

Portland is not a small town. The Portland-Vancouver (Washington) area has a population of 2.2 million which isn't much smaller then Vancouver, Canada.

yes.. but there are dates for Vancouver.. Portland and Tacoma.. 4 dates for all the area.. i don't think there were demand for all the area.. like someone has said in a radio in Seattle.. that the tickets were selling ok for her popularity in that area.. the singles weren't good there..it's been a long time since she has hits there.. and portland has a population of 593.820 itself.. it's not really a big city.. tacoma is really close to Seattle.. and in Vancouver.. Seattle and Portland.. the last one was the worse for the demand

Vancouver, BC techincally has a population of only 680,000 in its city proper. Yet, she still managed to do 2 sold out shows there.
It would have probably done better had she not toured nearly 2 years after the albums release.
I kind of regret not going to the Tacoma and Portland shows. There quite close to Vancouver.

To be fair, i took that picture out of the most reliable brazilian website that supports GaGa.
I guess they aren't that reliable.

Didn't Katie tell at the base thread that the upper seats were closed for the show? I guess when the demand is bigger they open that part...
The Believe Tour: 14,550 / 14,550 (100%)/$990,553
The California Dreams Tour: 10,259 / 11,059 / $392,854
Speak Now Tour: 13,610 / 13,610 (100%)/$903,445
This also shows how GaGa's prices are higher...
