The talk of pioneering an app infrastructure for wide industry use and creating her own record label just makes me look forward to how much of a mogul she'll become.
Even with Backplane, the potential of an official fan social network is huge. Obviously there's creating rihannanavy.com, beliebers.com, directioners.com etc. because online fandom is so prevalent and will only continue expanding. I also think tying them all together under a 'stans.com' umbrella would be cool, to keep pop updates/exclusives/new releases/reviews etc. in one place with the social network. You could take it beyond music and into film/tv. It could even be applied to brand/customer interaction sites, like a Facebook page crossed with forums and customer service. Niche social networks seem to be where things are going.
I also feel it's only a matter of time before she moves into fashion, too. She's one of the few celebrities who could have a completely legit design house because of her association and ties with the industry. It'd be cool if she built it from the ground up without any "by Gaga" branding but with lots of talented young designers and perhaps a Nicola type character as creative director/co-founder.
Not that money is all that important, but she's going to be rolling in it without even including her popstar income.
Question: when does Gaga's contract with Interscope expire?
I have no idea but she should stick with them for her own sake, unless she opens her own record label. There are too many labels out there that will destroy her whole career.
