I have the feeling it will be a September-ish lead and November release. At this point I'm not sure why she wouldn't just take advantage of the VMAs/Black Friday. Regardless of the authenticity of the "insider", that's good timing to line up for promo for the single and sales for the album.
This would be the logical option, but I'm not inclined to believe that they'd go for a launch from the VMAs. Especially since she won't be nominated for anything. And you know her. It's hard to get her to show up at something even when she IS nominated.
