Oh wow. I was not expecting a poem as the essay. I genuinely thought you were quoting the song when I first saw the entry format. The song is beautiful and probably the best one, in my opinion but due to your risky choice of having a poem explaining the song, I kinda got lost and didn't understand why you used this song and why it is worth-showing.
4. Capital B - Alanis Morissette - Jagged Little Pill: 7,5/10
I like the attitude of the song. I never paid much attention to Alanis but you can see how much she inspired some stars such as Avril Lavigne. I enjoyed your essay eventhough I didn't love it as much as I usually do and that has to do with the fact that you focused too much on the song history. I love those details but I wish you'd have talked a bit more about the song itself.

I didn't exactly love your introduction because I was feeling like you were going off-topic and not really telling me why it needed to be shown but as you kept going, things got better. This reminds me so much of Janet Jackson (and Prince, yes!) so I see your point. I also enjoyed how you said there were Kimbra's two sides here!
2. Luigi - Janet Jackson - The Velvet Rope: 8,5/10
You had amazing points and some not so great points in your essay. The song is defenitely worth-showing, so the choice was great. No criticism there. As for the essay, again, I feel like you had an amazing beginning but got lost when you started quoting the song, I mean the second paragraph, but you surely made justice to why it should be shown before the game is over.

Kimbra - I liked the song. I felt the influences from other artists you mentioned in your write-up, and I also like how you mentioned it would be the song that you would recommend to Kimbra virgins.
Shakira - It was a free round and you could have said anything you wanted. I loved the enthusiasm you brought to your essay and how you mentioned the song was a new style for her (a point that seemed to subtly hint at the round topic for me)
So guys, I rushed it a little and of course everyone has plans (including our judges, obviously) which means the update will be postponed probably for tomorrow. it depends on my level of tireness ahaha!
