Good! I like Redone and his work with Gaga but I want her to detach from the past...like completely reinvent her sound with Bloodpop and Ronson for this album.
Wait Your Turn had more R&B influence than anything she did before
Hard was very Urban
Stupid in Love was pure R&B
Rockstar 101 was a typical Rock inspired R&B song
Rude Boy was R&B/Island
G4L was very Urban
Cold Case Love was a typical Pop/R&B song.
Rated R is basically an R&B album with pop influences. It's clear that's the route she wanted to go after the incident.
Hard is hip hop, not R&B.
101 is not R&B.
Cold Case Love is... 0% R&B. It's literally a ballad. As R&B as Stay.
GGGB (especially with Take A Bow included) and her recent 4 albums are all moreso.

Agreed on Hard.
101 has R&B vocals all through it. Especially with that bridge. It was written and produced by The-Dream lol. Taken straight from a page of En Vogue's "Free Your Mind" or Whitney's "Queen of the Night".
CCL is a ballad, yeah. But there can be R&B ballads on an R&B song. I wouldn't compare it to Stay. It's literally an R&B song and fits the mold completely. Even wikipedia agrees.
I disagree. Rude Boy & most of Rated R was R&B it was excellent.
Really I saw that yo ulisted alot of dancehal caribbean infused pop from rihanna's singers and you don't think that's the case with rude boy?
Maybe it's the song title and how she sang it but I don't get r&b more than that island sound.
I stan Rihanna but all i remember is rockstar 101, firebomb and the singles from Rated R so maybe there were alot of R&b songs on it that i just don't recall

Britney should work with Max Martin again. It's been far too long.
Max martin, Bloodshy and Avant (Toxic) and Danja (blackout) should always be the trinity.
i said it in the base long ago.
those 3/4 producers should be a constant mainstay and then venture out with 2 or 3 newer underground producers.

She really had quality over quantity when it comes to her songs.
She did urban pop rap justice, though
Probably only had about 25 or 30 singles and most of them are remembered and have stood the test of time
