No, Avril has sold 1 million with each of her albums in Japan.

But you're right about 1,000,000 not being platinum in Japan. Selling 1 million in Japan is actually called millionth( I believe) or what people call diamond in the US.

Avril has had 3 consecutive 1 million(diamond) selling albums in Japan.

I just don't think that's correct at all. Oricon hasn't shown high sales for Avril. If this where true, she would have outsold Utada Hikaru's last album and came close to Koda Kumi's (which is highly unlikely). ALSO, Oricon publishes a year-end chart with sales totals and I've never seen artists on there not from Japan, especially not Avril. I'm almost positive about this.

If you visit the Oricon page in wikipedia, it confirms that Avril has only sold 788,000 copies of her album, which is certainly not 1,000,000.
