Well Mariah's verses are filled with tons of ad-libs and melismas and other vocal tricks, that's why that's the case for her. They're still verses because in other musical aspects they're the same. However, in the context of most pop songs and this game, melody is the same verse to verse. In this game, we can't hear whatever melody or other musical ideas you have in your head, and in order to show that you understand verses are the same in a song meter should be consistent. Mariah Carey is not every singer.
