I never said they weren't, but aren't the vast majority of K-Pop fans into it for reasons other than the music anyway? In a genre where even the cream of the crop is still garbage, I'm not going to let some supposedly objective "quality standards" stop me from enjoying something for any shallow reason. Nobody has to rationalize liking something for superficial reasons in a genre where quality of music is usually the last priority after flower boy looks and aegyo and other "important" **** like that. We're talking about a music industry where "The Boys" just spent several weeks at the top of the charts and swept awards. The fact that there are music snobs in K-Pop is HILARIOUS to me considering that we're already in the minority for finding K-Pop listenable. We all have our own priorities and preferences but after a certain point the snobbery just becomes laughable. Y'all go ahead and hipster yourselves into insanity while I shamelessly bop to anything I want. I know the true tea is bitter and hard to swallow, but it needed to be spilled because some people in here are getting carried away.

You didn't lie, now did you ?
Couldn't have said it better, I download and BOP to whatever I find catchy & enjoable, that's why we use KPop anyways (aside from visuals, and the fact that the scene is exciting, it's always fun to stan for a bunch of groups, compare them, & drag some every now & then )
Reminds me of the poor souls in KPop who try 2NE1 because their music is "commercial". Pathetic.
Edit: not that I think all KPop is "garbage" tho, the industry still produces top-notch and brilliant music every year. Tablo, BEG, BIGBANG, 2NE1...etc. I mean, Hate You alone ***** on a lot of songs that are charting in the US and WW right now , so it's a bit unfair for KPop, you might as well go on and call Pop in general "garbage" . Hell even 4minute's "Volume Up" is more interesting and better than singles released from the likes of Katy and the other pop hoes.

That is true. I don't really think all KPop is garbage, and I'd rather listen to some of those songs than most of American top 40 any day. it's just... In the broader K-Pop community, while there are draggings and stan wars that go on constantly, there also seems to be a shared understanding that we're all equally guilty in pop fandom because we're all suckers for catchy, manufactured, shallow music. This is true for American pop fandom as well. Well, scratch that - there are parts of certain stanbases in both that genuinely think that their fave's music is more artistically viable than everyone else's. But I won't get into that because it could get too messy.
& a lot of K-Pop fans are shallow. I only started listening to Taeyang cause he was hot Luckily his music is amazing.
And I disagree the vast majority of idols are talented. I mean even groups like KARA,T-ara & B1A4 put on better performances than other acts internationally could ever hope too

I don't know if I agree that the vast majority of idols are talented, more like half. Every group has their talented members and the ones that are obviously there just to look good. But yeah there are some mid-tier groups in K-Pop that could perform circles around top artists from other countries any day of the week. Some of the groups' performances are way too robotic and lacking in stage presence IMO, but some of them are more entertaining and more professional than their western counterparts.

!
Pop music shouldn't be taken seriously, anyways. Even though, us music maniacs like to make a big deal out of everything, and discuss **** no one cares about.

^ I'm mostly interested in the MV. Is that coming out today? Because the song on first listen isn't doing anything for me.

Imma need her to keep this hairstyle come their American debut, maybe in black or dirty blonde though.
Cute performance, but is this doing anything in Japan yet? I need them back in Korea in May or June. I can't wait much longer than that. Make it happen, YG.
I srsly don't get...why they made DORADORA a title track?...
AMAZING is way better
Overall...mini is pretty weak tbh...
4U made by Jay Park sounds like a track from his album (and that's not a positive), Tick Tock in korean ver. and new arrangement sounds chaotic...
