It's like the reverse of what happened to Stronger in the UK

It's the same thing that's happening in the US except Top 40 radio hasn't quite caught on yet, which I'm still not TOO worried about since the major stations took two weeks to add Katy's song. But, the song doesn't seem to be connecting with people to buy it and that worries me. The song is getting enough airplay on Hot AC in the US where it should be at LEAST in the Top 200 and even that is weak. There are some songs above Kelly that aren't even really getting airplay at all, so.. for that reason, I'm worried for the song. There's no major promo opportunities in the US til the VMA's. RCA's already tried the banner on the Pop page as well as giving the video away for free and it only moved up to the low 300's on iTunes. Maybe they were worried about the song to begin with and that's why they gave the video such a cheap budget?

Oh, to be a fly on the wall..
I should add, I've prematurely freaked out before with some other singles and they've turned out to be just biding their time and taking a while. I could just be comparing this to Stronger and how quickly that took off. We'll see, I guess.
