I agree with this. A few months ago I thought MLJ was the obvious winner but thinking about it now - "The Lady is a Tramp", Bennett and Gaga, positive reviews. It will be a close call.

The thing is we are not here for "close". The Amy Duet would have guaranteed him a nomination and a win. The Gaga duet is meh. Now he only gave MLJ a more fighting chance. Thats all Im trying to say.

I agree, and Heath Ledger is an amazing actor who was terrific in the Dark Knight but he only won the oscar because he died. When somebody dies they're heralded as a legend moreso than when they were alive and everything they do seems 100x better. Body and Soul would be a shoe in because Amy died as well as the talent.
