47 | DAVID GUETTA F/ SIA
"Titanium" |
WRITE-UP:
One of the standout tracks from Nothing But The Beat is Titanium. I find this song so amusing because of the featured artist who sang it. Australian recording artist Sia Fuller did justice with the vocals on this song from beginning till the end. Titanium paved the way for her to be known this year. This brilliant track is a ballad with the lyrics talking about inner strength. Titanium did well on the charts almost everywhere. I bet you will agree with me that this can be considered a masterpiece from David Guetta. As for the music video, instead of seeing David Guetta or Sia on it, we see Ryan Lee playing the role of a boy with supernatural powers. The music video was beautifully shot and it is somewhat mysterious. David Guetta proves that he is an amazing DJ. He knows who to collaborate with that will surely be appreciated by listeners of this time.

46 | THE WANTED
"Chasing The Sun" |
WRITE-UP:
The Wanted is here once again, this time with the irresistible single for Chasing The Sun. After their breakout hit Glad You Came, this one managed to follow as a smash hit especially in the UK. I instantly liked this song after a couple of listen; its very hypnotizing. Its aura is just so inviting that it makes you get up and dance especially when you hear the chorus part. The 'oh-oh' parts all throughout the song is simply infectious that it reminds me of Till The World Ends. The music video is ok, as we see girls turned out to be vampires in the end, probably to relate the concept with the title of the song. The Wanted is making a statement that they are not simply a mere boy band. One Direction might be their biggest rival as of the moment but The Wanted proves they also have consistent smash hits. Chasing The Sun is one good example of it.
2009: WHITNEY HOUSTON "Million Dollar Bill"
2010: CHRIS BROWN "Crawl"
2011: CHRIS BROWN F/ JUSTIN BIEBER "Next 2 You"

45 | ADAM LAMBERT
"Never Close Our Eyes" |
WRITE-UP:
This year, Adam Lambert released hit latest record Trespassing. Unfortunately, its singles all underperformed or should I say flopped. Despite that, one of the better singles from that album manage to make it to my list this year, and that is Never Close Our Eyes. The song is about living life to the fullest and partying until the break of dawn. Better Than I Know Myself didn't really work for me up to now. It is a good thing that Never Close Our Eyes went on the opposite direction. When this was constantly being played on the radios, it eventually lead me to liking it for quite some time. Never Close Our Eyes did good in my countdown being able to reach as high as #4. This year is not really Adam Lambert's year when it comes to music. Let's keep our fingers crossed that this will not be the end of his career as an entertainer.
2009: DAVID GUETTA F/ AKON "Sexy Bitch"
2010: TAIO CRUZ "Dynamite"
2011: LADY ANTEBELLUM "Just A Kiss"

44 | DRAKE F/ RIHANNA
"Take Care" |
WRITE-UP:
When I first heard this, I dislike it and I told myself it's boring. As a fan of listening to the radio frequently, I always hear this from time to time. It took me probably an estimate of more than two months to appreciate its beauty. With the music video premiering so late, it was a just a good timing for me to even like it. I may not be a fan of Drake's music but I can make exemptions especially when Rihanna appears to be the featured artist. Take Care is about Drake and Rihanna expressing how they were hurt in the past and promises each other to take good care of each other on their new relationship. Judging from its composition, this is a much better collaboration compared to What's My Name. Take Care is simply dark and mature which really captures the emotion of the song. This is Drake's only entry in my list but this is just one of the multiple entries by Rihanna especially as the featured artist.
2009: GREEN DAY "Know Your Enemy"
2010: CHRISTINA AGUILERA "You Lost Me"
2011: LADY GAGA "Yoό And I"
