I disagree. The original version is a good song... But you entirely lose the emotion which is the best part of the song. The piano/live/idol rendition is just such a different, superior take on the song and it's what I and many others have been wanting. The original is good and all, but it overpowers the emotion.
My mom, when I showed her the Idol performance, was just stunned, speechless, and emotional. She thought it was an entirely new song. When I played the original, she remembered it but said the production distracted her from the emotion and lyrics.
