Beyonce is the safest pop star around along with Taylor.
Gaga is not exactly risky either tho, pandering to LGBT now or releasing a cover album of universally loved standards with somene respected as Tony isnt risky in any way, shape or form. More like the oposite.
Really? I'm not familiar with the discographies of other popstars because I generally don't like pop. Can you direct me to a single from popgirls such as Selena or Demi with a mix of genres as intense as "Countdown's" which incorporates R&B, funk, hip hop, Latin pop music, world music, reggae and dancehall while at the same time actually sounding good? Also when did they release those songs? I believe Countdown could've done much better had it not been released in the midst of the late age of EDM.
Neither of them.. maybe Gaga.. but both of them are not taking any risk since their music will be succesfull just by the name of artist.. the artists that take the risk are the artists that dare to be unique and something special and different like Melanie Martinez.. Ryn Weaver etc
Not people saying Bey is risky. Where is the risk with Beyonce? "Musically" is not release method, but I guess the Hive maybe can't make that distinction.
The only risk Gaga took was C2C and even then she teamed up with Tony
The delusion..
Following her 16m selling album with the very experimental, dark album Born This Way was a bigger risk than Beyonces career combined, not to mention releasing ARTPOP which was obviously not particularly appealing to a wide audience either e.g. Fashion!, Artpop, etc.
Love both of them. they are amazng but Gaga wins hands down. Gaga would be more successful with her risks if she wasnt messy, in her image and execution of music releases.
Her safest image would have been Nothing else cute girl realness, throught her career and she would have had massive success, more than Taylor Swift and Katy Perry combined but she switched it up.Just Hope her career will recover with her next album.

Im not familiar with the discographies of Selena or Demi either, but I have not said that Bey is the only safe pop star out there. But luckily there are also pop stars who are mixing genres and creating songs and albums that **** all over Beys basic career (including that laughably "risky and experimental" piece you posted) when it comes to creativity and innovation (see my sig for example). Not mentioning that when it comes to songwriting, we cant really take Beyonces input seriously
Bey is risky, it's just that she usually pulls it off so well. Gaga is risky too, though, but she's not all she's made out to be. I'd say they're even.
Probably Gaga but she's not successful when she takes risks. Bey is.

Pick one, sis.
Beyonce is successful with her risk, and Countdown is a flop, but not a risk? Or Countdown is a risk, and Beyonce is not successful with risk?
