JoJo - "Save My Soul" / "When Love Hurts" / "Say Love"
The Third #Tringle
From someone who attended last night's listening session...

So as many of you know, I was lucky enough to win the #JoJoFansFreeSweeps contest on Twitter where a a few people got to listen to tracks from Jojo's upcoming album. Let me just say, GET YOUR WEAVE GLUE READY BECAUSE WE IZ NOT READY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They also took everyones phone away as we got in, so I have no audios. I did snap her singing Marvin's Room and Weak, so yay for that! And yay for the free wine!
We went to a studio, and there was about 15-20 of us there. A few label people, and her friends. She looks gorg and kept it wicked casual. We went right in to listen to the Tringle. She wanted to note it is NOT an EP. It's 3 songs from the album that are different in their own lane. Now, to the music:
Say Love
It is my fav of the tringle. It's a mid-tempo Pop/R&B track that showcases her vocals flawlessly. At the end there was this dope riff thing and I found myself saying "Well damn!!" so loud she looked at me and laughed.
Save My Soul
Another mid-tempo song she wrote as a reflection of addition. She spoke about being raised by two alcoholic parents and that AA was just a common thing growing up. She wanted to talk about her own thoughts on it and said she gets emotional when she hears it. She spoke about the infinity tattoo she has on he wrist that is a quote as well. It's still catchy and open for interpretation for all, but the guitars flow on this track so well. I can see a lot of people overlooking it, but its good.
When Love Hurts
This is the song that will be sent to radio. She's filming a video for this (and every Tringle song) when she gets back to LA and will pay homage to Paris is Burning. VERY poppy with a soul drive. We all will be grooving!!
She then played other songs that weren't done yet. Some were not mastered or mixed. One song she played was a ballad. It was just her plucking on her piano with some strings in the background. She plans to elevate it with a LOT more strings, and her voice shines so ****ing MUCH on it!! I got chills. It's basically about calling someone out saying that, 'It doesn't matter to you, but it matters to me asshole!". Not the exact lyrics, but thats the vibe
She wasn't supposed to, but she also played a track called Good Thing, which is her collab with MNEK. She is very much into the UK House/Pop scene and it came out so ****ing hard on this!!! THIS. SONG. SLAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYSSSSSSSSSSS!!! If you like MNEK, it is something that could hit on his last EP, but with Jojo's vocals with a bit of soul on it. Def a pop banger for those wanting her to go that way. LAWD HAVE MERCY, GET THE WAVE GLUE AND MAKE SURE IT IS ON SOLID!!
Overall, her music is in the same place she was 7 years ago, but a lot more mature. It's a mix of Pop and R&B. She said the album currently has about 6 tracks that are done and good to go. There is no release date for the album as of yet, and she is still playing with titles. She IS however planning on doing some promo concerts after this Tringle comes out.
