Interesting #1! I've only heard one Royal Blood song and that was a long time ago. From what I remember it was pretty cool. And Damien Rice! I haven't heard his album but I recall liking some of his other material.

I actually tried to listen to Little Machines but wasn't able to finish. I liked "Up We Go'" so if that's the weakest on the album then I need to give it another shot.

I'll be checking out The War On Drugs too.

I loved the "9 Crimes" shoutout. It's such an affecting song for me, too, and you wrote about it beautifully.

It's fitting that the top four albums would also have the four best write-ups, as wow your passion sure came through on these! Really great job. I love that War on Drugs album, and you describe it perfectly. Bob Dylan meets the heartland! I haven't heard the Lights album, though I need to. The Damian Rice album was a great curveball, and that really does sound like a powerful album. When i'm in the mood for it, as it sounds pretty taxing (in a good way!), I will def give it a listen. And then of course, Royal Blood! I love how you **** all over the narrative that rock is dead, right on! I haven't listened to the album as much as you have, but I have really enjoyed it, especially after the KROQ set. A very worthy #1. And I was talking previously about the last set having YECA heavy hitters, I look forward to Royal Blood joining that esteemed group!

Considering that I feel that Little Machines and Siberia are two of the best pop albums of the new millennium...it might be a mistake.

Nice to see you, Mr. Spaz! I hope you stick around for the "other" singles list, but if you just come back for the top 200, I won't fault you for that. I just hope I get around to even working on it, let alone finishing it.

Oh god, yes. MFFF was the biggest surprise of the year for me, and that's coming from someone who enjoyed his previous work. That album blew me away.
