Otherwise, no.
Every country needs defense and protection. Every country needs army. But there are various types of soldiers, positions and missions.
Professional soldiers who are paid for operating in or initiating various conflicts over power and oil around the world while their families are all safe and well far away from it, are nothing more than professionally trained murderers who are learnt to obey orders. There is no war or armed conflict without innocent causalities, and these people have their direct responsibility for taking their lives.

Meanwhile your little happy ass typed this post on a computer made out of plastics that came from crude oil; oil that most likely came from the Middle East. So you're also contributing to Middle East oil conflicts. If you're so against these conflicts, take your happy little butt to a remote place, chop your own wood, build your own cottage, raise your own animals, farm your own food, conserve your own solar energy and isolate yourself from most of the world. If your that committed to being completely irresponsible for these conflicts. Aren't you from Germany? Germans were some of the first armies to arrive in Afghanistan; we had to camp at a German base. This goes for all of y'all keyboard warriors.

No, darling, Im not from Germany, I have only been there for two semesters.
And why should I stop using oil products, including for example pharmaceuticals, when they can also save lives? Just because warmongers use oil and gas dependency of todays society as a way to gain more power? Its not oil whats wrong with this world, hunty.
Let me tell you something. There were wars before The Petroleum Age started, and when there is no oil left, the conflicts will just go on. Its about power and sphere of influence of certain leaders and governments. And you are their puppet on strings.

If they weren't out there we'd be constantly faced with threats. I definitely don't agree with war but someone has to go out there and do it and I have respect for those individuals.

Ha Ha Ha Ha. Is that all you have to say? The United States had no interest in the Middle East before the economic boom from the industrial revolution. Oil is what made the US change it's foreign policy. Not some made up power conspiracy you're trying to conjure up without even a single source. You have a lot to learn child. Money makes the world go round child, MONEY! Money is the reason why those that have it chose to invest in oil energy instead of solar when the technology was first discovered. It was much cheaper to produce and gave out way more profits. That is the reason we have these Middle East conflicts. Control by the royal families and businesses and security by the US in exchange for fair prices. And I could of just been a pawn, but even a pawn can ultimately check mate a King. I helped ran off savages from villages under extreme hostile conditions. What have you done for your fellow man lately?
Men want money, power is just a symptom of having that money.

LOL the dramatization. This is some soap-opera ****. I think it's exactly this kind of hyper-nationalism that is troublesome in America. Like, burn at the stake? really? goodbye

Now I'm not saying no man wants power. Saddam Hussein wanted power when he was little, but after getting that power he didn't want the responsibility that came with that power. He just wanted to enjoy his money. And that money only came if he had the power. Rockefeller didn't wish to have power when he was a teen; he wanted money. And he became the richest man in the US. The power to buy and influence politicians came later. Same for many other American tycoons. It was money they were pursuing first.

I am not putting millions of people under one judgmental umbrella. I am simply showing you why I don't a u t o m a t i c a l l y consider e v e r y soldier a hero nor do I a u t o m a t i c a l l y give them my respect j u s t because they're in a uniform.
I do not know every single soldier. I don't know what they've done, who they've helped or hurt therefore I will give them respect just as I would anyone else. Everyone deserves decency but you have to be a respectful person in order to be respected and quite frankly, your entitlement and attitude are not deserving of that as are many other soldiers.
It's not like when I see a soldier I yell murderer! rapists! But I don't give them some kind of special treatment or go out of my way to show respect either. Establish a personal level of communication, show me that you're respectful and I will give you my respect.
