I don't get the disappointment with her sales. Albums don't sell like they used too, and even then, its been proven multiple times before that having a big hit does not equate to having big opening numbers. Longevity is what's important. Just because Ariana was slaying Itunes doesn't mean anything. Any increase is fine by me, at least she sold within the same range and didn't have a massive drop from her debut sales.
And honestly, I don't even consider Ariana a major pop girl and I'm a big fan. She's not there yet; give her time. Contrary to what you all believe or think, Ariana is not a household name.
I kinda want Rihanna, Katy, Gaga, anyone really to release her damn album so I can drag their 100K sales. Yall your faves couldn't sell well right now either, stop trying it

Watch taylor sell double that 150k.
Jk, it's fantastic numbers, hope she stays consistent with her hits and eventually gets platinum.
People comparing this to Teenage Dream..............
OOTB: 49K
TD: 192K
YT: 138K
ME: 150K-170K
see the difference? Ariana has a dedicated fanbase but Katy doesn't and Katy wasn't a TV actress building her fanbase from a TV show + posting videos on Youtube of her singing
How is the industry even a fact here when artist like Lana, Ed sheran and Sam Smith have opened with better numbers than Ariana without huge hits like Problem or even Break Free and Bang Bang, radio on her side, bigger fanbase and all the promo she got
all the other pop girls are struggling 4 or 5 eras into their career, not in their second era with 3 hit songs and huge promo
150-175k in today's sales climate is not 'struggling'. I wouldn't even call Demi & Selena's barely-100k 1st week #s (with big top ten hits and WAYYY more established fanbases) 'struggling'. y'all need to know when to use which terms instead of your usual SLAY!!/FLOP dichotomy, it's getting hella tedious
