I want Problem to go #1 so bad but I feel like it will be blocked by Fancy/Rude. I also want Stay With Me togo #1. And I want Maroon 5's lea single Maps to go #1 even though I haven't heard it yet

Also later in the year I want Rihanna, Adele, and Taylor's lead singles to all go #1 but I bet they all won't

I like having around eight Number Ones a year, no fewer than six, and no more than ten. I like chart longevity at the top and overall though. Sadly, none of my favorite songs seem to ever reach Number One; whether it be Airplay, Audio Streams, Digital Downloads, Physical Sales, Ringtone/back Sales, Video streams, and/or the overall Hot 100.

Imagine Dragons "Radioactive" and Florida-Georgia Line's "Cruise" were the closest for me in 2013, and my favorite Number One in 2013 was Thrift Shop. So far this year, I will say John Legend's "All Of Me" is my favorite Number One. Even though it is not Rock or Country, because the song relies only on vocals and piano without any fancy production to get heard on the radio, I respect that song the most.

Since I am older than most of my fellow participants on here (yes, that is my real photo), and I have little use for Pop music, my Rock and Country hits have a much harder time topping the charts. My songs often have a lot of longevity, but seem to fall short when it comes to reaching Number One.

I'm confused, only 8 #1's would be crazy! 2010 was perfect, it had 17 #1's! 2011 dropped down to 13 new #1's, but 14 if you count Firework but that topped starting in 2010. 2011 had 12 new #1's, but 13 if you count We Found Love which topped the charts starting in 2011. And in 2013 there were 10 new #1's, but 11 if you count Locked Out Of Heaven which first peaked in 2012. For the past 4 years there has been a decline in the amount of #1's each year. It seems that streaming an airplay give songs more longevity than sales tend too. With streaming constantly gaining and more songs becoming crossovers and getting huge airplay peaks I wouldn't be suprised if we see less songs at the top spot. So maybe after all your 8 #1's a year may not be so "crazy" :/

Lately though, fancy production has been harming songs' performance in sales and radio. The more simplistic approach has been proving to be more successful than the everything-including-the-kitchen-sink approach (see "All Of Me" going number one while "G.U.Y."... well...).

It may not be long before we start seeing four number ones a year.

Personally, I'm not here for that. Seeing songs like "Happy" dominate for months would be an absolute nightmare.

Fun fact: We haven't had a one-week number one so far this year. If this holds true for the rest of the calendar year, 2014 will be the first since 2002, which only had nine number ones (10 if you include Nickelback's "How You Remind Me," which started in 2001)

Only 8 #1s a year sounds really, really boring. That means which #1 would spend 6.5 weeks at #1 on avg and surely some would dominate for more than that if there are truly only 8 in 1 year.

I loved how many #1s there were in 2010. It's more exciting.
