I've already seen it (twice). I saw it prior to looking at the RT scores (which are now higher) and I think it's deserving of a more fresh rating. Don't rely on RT to tell you whether you should see it in theaters or not. make your own decision... that's what being "divergent" is all about. are you a slave to the masses or can you choose for yourself?

Yeah the critics can choose for themselves that they think the movie's bad too.

And there are many people who see what the movie's about, and see the trailer, and see nothing to interest them. That doesn't make them "slaves."

Twilight in general is all ****, but New Moon is by far the worst book/movie. Eclipse was probably their best effort.

In any case, Divergent does not deserve these awful Mortal Instruments/The Host comparisons. It is actually a pretty well made and well paced movie with great acting and lots of room to grow with the next film. I love The Hunger Games, but this series on screen is shaping up to be a bit darker, which is the tone I wish they would have gone for more with The Hunger Games movies thus far, given the nature of the plot.

I watched it tonight and I gotta say I loved it. Great acting and the movie was a bit slow in the beginning but it's understandable because they had to explain the movie. I like the fact that unlike a lot of the YA novels, this one doesn't have a love triangle. Trish won't have to mope around wondering who she'll choose.

Okay, you're entitled to your own opinion but I think the best book belongs to the Harry Potter series, it remains unbothered.

From someone who hasn't read the books I thought the movie was quite entertaining, definitely deserves at least a 60% on RT. While I immediately noticed many similarities to THG it became its own movie very fast and the first half was fantastic. The second half became a bit muddled and the main purpose of the characters was unclear for a large chunk of it but overall I enjoyed it.

I saw it yesterday and it was nice. I did think it was gonna suck in the beginning cause of the cliche theme. I think a lot of people were being left confused because there wasn't much info and detail about the type of society they lived in. The romance was hot, and my favorite scene was when Four shows Triss his tattoos while Dead in The Water by Ellie was playing. I might see the sequel, it could be interesting.
