IFPI has always used shipments figures for album releases. Artpop is not the exception, and you don't need mediatraffic to know actual sales of global artists like Gaga.
The countries that made 90% of the music industry have their national charts, so it is quite easy to make accurate estimates.
Roar might get it a 2nd year. It's having great longevity both sales and streaming wise.
