I'm not understanding people saying this was boring.
Yes, it's a mid tempo track and not a ballad, but the different arrangement calls for a different performing style. And it's not as though she was lacking in charisma, she never is.
Now if you've always disliked the song, then it's no surprise that you won't be moved by the performance. But if you're expecting her to perform slower songs in the same manner that she performs upbeat, dancey tracks then you must not be as familiar with Bey as you claim to be.
I've always thought this song was borderline bland and its production was repetitive, but this orchestral arrangement was great. It really fleshed out a so-so song and gave it a new life.
I thought it was beautiful, her dress and body were the best I've ever seen from her. She can do the flashy performances, but she can also do the performances that don't require her to move at all.
I think the performance was drop dead beautiful and magical. The only thing that wouldve made it a bit better in my eyes would have to be an orchestra to be seen on the stage as well with her. I mean, if shes already adding those instruments, why not show people playing them, right?!
It's hilarious when people call Beyoncé boring, considering literally no other female artist right now is capable of putting on an interesting performance unless it involves making a fool out of themselves. People don't understand simplicity because they don't appreciate a good song by a talented artist presented in an honest fashion. It's always about fleeting gimmicks and shallow stage effects. Yes they're impressive. But this song isn't about that. And those that don't get that...hopefully you develop an appreciation for music and SOLELY music one day.
