Monica didn't fall off due to Beyonce.... Monica fell off due to bad business decisions. So Gone was the #1 urban song of 2003 and U Should've Known Better was a Top 20 hit on Hot 100/ Top 10 hit on R&B in 2004. What messed her up was releasing Knock Knock which was HER choice not Clive's.

Makings of Me was completely in Monica's hands just like My December was in Kelly Clarkson's hands... both albums flopped due to Clive not promoting.

Trust Monica still has the most #1 hits for females of her generation and all of them are SOLO except for Boy Is Mine. Monica is not worried or phased by Beyonce, hell if you watch Live In Atlanta dvd... Beyonce call her Miss Monica

Brandy Inks New Deal With Epic

Brandy has inked a new deal with Epic Records, a label spokesperson confirms to Billboard.com, declining further comment. The artist, who was most recently signed to Atlantic, is prepping her Epic debut for release later this year.

Brandy’s final Atlantic album, 2004’s "Afrodisiac," has sold 416,000 copies to date in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Last December, Brandy, born Brandy Norwood, was cleared of all charges stemming from a fatal car crash the year before, including a recommended misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter charge, which carries a penalty of up to a year in jail.

The artist had rear-ended another car while traveling on an L.A. freeway. The driver of the car, a 38-year-old mother of two, died the following day from injuries she had sustained.


Just last month, Brandy was hit with a lawsuit by a landscaping company, which alleged the singer owed her gardener $3,576 in expenses for work carried out at her property between July 2007 and February 2008. Brandy's publicist claimed the bills were sent to the wrong address. A trial date has been set for April 22.

Yeah, but at the same time the woman who died was intoxicated and it was later found out that Brandy wasn't the one at fault..but of course the media overlooked that report. Brandy was definitely affected deeply by the situation though, and still is.
