The point is if you liken someone whom you don't really know or don't have a relationship with to a prostitute, you can reasonably expect them to be offended. Especially if you do it publicly. Whether or not it's true is irrelevant.

There's nothing any of us could do about Amanda's situation. We were never authorized to have her get help. And even then there's a vast difference between laughing at some of the (admittedly funny) things she said (like the "I want Drake to murder my vagina" thing) and actively mocking her for her problems, especially when it's on a huge site like Twitter and you have millions upon millions of followers. Miley's comments on the other hand seem tactless and incredibly insensitive.

Also a lot of people here thought she was faking it for attention, which was incredibly stupid, but

It didn't take confirmation to know Amanda had issues. Seriously, are you that dense to think her entire lash out was ~just to be funny? People were aware something was up, but nobody did anything. It's like not helping somebody who's clearly insecure and when they commit suicide, everyone just says "Well we didn't ~know." Being a bystander to a problem and not trying to fix it is just as bad as laughing at it.

And Rihanna body shames & insults people's appearances on the DAILY. There's even a thread for it. Insults are insults, you can't decide which ones are acceptable and which ones aren't. What Miley said was offensive, but the overreactions & biased arguments are too much.

I can't with your contradictory statements. You claim you have nothing to learn about her --- then surmise that she is a failed artist who is only known for scandals. She released a LP last year to a 75/100 on metacritic. She has a career - albeit not mainstream, but she still has it. And nevertheless, she still has experience in the industry from her peak.

I'd agree with you if Miley Cyrus wasn't a public figure.

It's not a secret to anyone that she has been selling her body/sex. She was fingering herself at the VMAs. She's been swinging naked on a wrecking ball, and on a cover of a magazine topless licking her armpit. These are all things she chose to do, and knew the audience it'd get.

Why are you so pressed? Like, O'Connor pulled that stunt for reasons other than self-promotion. She actually had a cause she believed in and hurt her career in the process. Miley's doing this all for promotional reasons, which is fine, but don't act like those two are even a bit alike. Bringing up Sinéad's career trajectory or "relevance" is completely irrelevant and proves you have absolutely no valid arguments against what she actually said to Miley.
