Pop radio plays his songs non-stop. Since "Good Feeling" late 2011, Top 40 been playing him every day, he has amazing sales (GF and WO are both 3 million sellers and Whistle is already at 1.7m) and he's #3 on streaming, he achieved 3 #1 Hot 100 hits and "Low" (his debut single) spent 10 weeks at #1, most atrlers hate him tho.

It's probably the amount of features he has in his songs:
Right Round - Ke$ha
Sugar - Wynter Gordon
Jump - Nelly Furtado
Good Feeling - the Etta James sample
Wild Ones - Sia
not to mention, Club Can't Handle Me was produced by David Guetta, and Good Feeling was produced by Dr. Luke and Avicii.
And well, at the same time, his hit was 10 weeks at #1, and that gives him a lot more credibility unfortunately. Jason DeRulo, Jay Sean, Iyaz, taio Cruz, Mike Posner and LMFAO also have music that sounds the same!
Flo Rida pretty much goes different with every song.
Whistle though is utter crap
