And to think that this song almost wasn’t included in the rate. TWaF was part of the soundtrack for the basic film, Valentine’s Day which stars a bunch of actors who haven’t had a decent role in quite some time. Fairytales play a big part in Taylor’s discography, but this this time around something is missing. The song doesn’t quite pack the same punch as lyrically similar songs such as Love Story and White Horse. The one part in the song that gives you hope is when she sings “Time slows down, whenever you’re around.” Too bad all that momentum is wasted on one of Taylor’s most forgettable choruses.
Side note: This is tied for Taylor’s highest charting single on the Billboard Hot 100 thanks to its first week sales of 325,000. Are you disgusted by this? I am.
