Elly Jackson wrote her debut single with one other person.
Carly Rae wrote hers with two other people.
I don't know what she's trying to get at, but it's hilarious that someone can feel so unjustifiably superior. Really odd. She did not "get", "snatch" or "drag" anybody.
Ok then, you go listen to the music business machine and I'll go listen to the critics. Everyone's happy, carry on.
I'm shocked at your stupidity but ok carry on. I will listen to music that I enjoy, you will listen to music that the critical consensus deems good enough. Congratulations.
Also, I'll wait for your actual comeback to what I pointed out about your contradictions, as well of evidence of the critical consensus for 'Call Me Maybe' being that it's boring and generic.

At you calling someone stupid when can't even read and comprehend what people say. Go to bed kid, I'm done at you twisting words and pretending to clock everyone.

I explained why 'Call Me Maybe' is better. Sadly you have no evidence or explanation for anything I've posted.
Of course I will point out your stupidity if you're blindly saying people that like the song are following the "music business machine" and that critics know everything and their opinion on music is superior, and on top of that having zero receipts for all the apparently negative feedback the song's been getting.

You explained? Where? Because saying something is ">>>>>>>>>" than other is not an explanation. Our opinions will always biased, so we have to look for the critics and reviews to a professional opinion. So let's campare the reviews:
La Roux:
Quote:
Remarkably, with this astounding debut, an unassuming 21-year-old from SW2 has revitalised a forgotten form to make one of the finest forward-thinking British pop albums of recent memory.
Quote:
The result is as baleful and forlorn as most dance pop is swishy and effervescent.
Quote:
La Roux's dedication to their aesthetic makes this an album where the songs are variations on a theme, and on the rare occasion where the songwriting isn't razor-sharp, the style threatens to overtake the substance. However, that devotion also makes La Roux a standout, not just among the many other '80s revivalists, but the entire late-2000s pop landscape.
Quote:
The influences may be retro, but La Roux use them as the starting point for something fresh.
Call Me Maybe:
Quote:
"it's breezy and sweet, a eyelash-fluttering flirtation run hard through the Disney-pop model of digitized feelings and brusque, chipper arrangements.
Quote:
"is the kind of song that pop fans will take to heart.
Quote:
"a sugary dance-pop tune ... about hoping for a call back from a crush,"
Quote:
we will be virtually incapable of escaping the song and its strident disco strings and that horribly catchy hook.
So, like I said since my first post and you still can't comprehend, Call Me Maybe is a cute catchy pop song for the radios. It serves its purpose, but it doesn't go anywhere far from that. La Roux delivered a fresh, innovative sound with of quality. How you gonna argue that Call Me Maybe is better than La Roux? Because that's your opinion? I'll need more than that darling.
OH DEAR GOD NO JUST NO I CAN'T EVEN READ THIS WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU
Why is MY opinion on some girl's debut single more biased than a critic? Please enlighten me.
This is such a meaningless, nothing-y statement. It looks like you've made a point, and yet it doesn't actually make any sense or tell me anything.
So your opinion is more accurate and impartial than a journalist who does that for living? And please stop turning on me, your point was: "Carly's voice, the song's production and the melody >>>> La Roux's life." How YOU gonna prove it? I mean, besides your impeccable opinion.

How the **** am I supposed to prove that? "Besides" my opinion? That's the whole point. IT IS MY OPINION. Compared to you spouting facts that you have STILL yet to back-up (I'll keep waiting on links to all those critics who say it's boring and generic).
My opinion is just as accurate and impartial as a journalist who "does that for living", obviously. You know why? Because music is subjective. You seem to think critics are employed because they have superior taste in music and can factually state what's good and what's not. Critics are critics because they are good at (or should be good at) explaining why they like or dislike a piece of music, and to entertain the reader. They are not some almighty power who reign over music and dictate to you what's good and bad, no matter what you think.
Gui, Call Me Maybe is one of the best songs of the year. I thought everyone knew this.
Using the critics as a get out of jail free card is a slippery slope for you, because of you who stan for. (And I'm not talking about Britney. You know exactly who I'm referring to, and you can PUNCH to Metacritic to see what the critics think of her debut.)
Carly's voice, the song's production and the melody >>>> La Roux's life
was obviously tongue in cheek and not meant to be taken seriously, as any rational person would see, so you might want to stop latching onto that like a lifeboat as you drown in an ocean of your own ignorance, hypocrisy and contradictions.
