To put myself in the mind of an objective Katy disliker, I'd say because there's nothing particularly phenomenal about her. There's nothing she completely excels in, it's like the phrase "jack of all trades, master of none." I love her so I appreciate how she's well-rounded and lighthearted but I can see why someone who stans Mariah or Christina's vocals/Beyonce or Britney's performing skills/Gaga's theatrics doesn't particularly care for Katy bopping around singing bubblegum music.

Some people take it oddly far tho. I understand disliking her music or thinking her personality is a bit abrasive but I'll never get people who wish death upon her or anything like that. They are the truly pressed.

HONESTLY. The bitch is winning, and breaking records, and she is in our eyes not even on our favs level in any light, and we can't stand it. We realized she is basic, forgettable, and probably, but the fact that she slayed the charts for a year in a half has us pressed. The charts aren't all of that, but they do matter in an argument when you need to put her hoe in place. Katy as that advantage her stans live to throw around, but her credibility,talent,longevity,artistry, and skills will always be in question.

Hince all the threads about her versus other artist who are CLEARLY better.

I honestly don't think ATRL strongly dislikes her, with the exception of a few users. She's just an easy target based on her singing/songwriting skills combined with her huge success. She doesn't get dragged THAT much more than any other major artist

I think the hate really started when she E.T. went number 1 and some members were afraid of her tying the Billboard record. Then she released LFN, which is bubblegum pop through and through, which some members don't like. Then she went #1 with that, which tied the record, so everyone got pressed.
