WTF???? I literally HATE the Cars films, nothing but a cash cow with it's merchandising. I already know how I'm going to feel about this... What happened to them? PLANES???
SERIOUSLY!? I got so upset at how money hungry they got after the success with Toy Story 3 and they got the impression they should pump out sequels/prequels...and now spin-offs!? FFFF. I used to stan for them because they made entirely new films, and had great stories.
I am so upset with Pixar. Weren't they supposed to release BRAVE around the fall the same year Cars 2 came out?
Just found out the film isn't really being made by PIXAR, so it's not a Disney•PIXAR film, but it is being made by Disney Toons, and being produced by John Lasseter. UGH.

Yup. It was the Brenda Chapman firing that delayed it. Still mad about that.

This straight to DVD project now get a theatrical release. The downfall of Pixar......
edit: oh wait. production company: DisneyToon Studios
The same DisneyToon that has brought gems such as:
The Return of Jafar
Leroy & Stitch
Belle's Magical World
Cinderella III: A Twist in Time
They have produced a few actually great movies though:
-A Goofy Movie
-Return To Neverland
-The Tinker Bell films (which should've been full theatrical releases in the US - they're fantastic). Not to mention this damn Planes movie is pushing the next Tinker Bell movie back to next Spring.
AND GUESS WHAT'S IN THE PIPELINE:
Planes 2: Fire & Rescue
-Unused (and AWESOME) poster of 'The Incredibles' by Robert McGinnis (of Bond-movie-poster fame) tweeted out by Brad Bird. Could Mr. Bird be hinting that we might see more of 'The Incredibles?' Using Mr. Incredible as one of the stars of the new Disney Infinity video game seems like a hint too.
-Out of Sundance, we've gotten 'Escape From Tomorrow.' A neo-noir film which has been drawing comparisons to David Lynch. The film, made by Randy Moore, was filmed mostly in Florida at the Walt Disney World Resort (without the support of the WDC). Hopefully the film will see the light of day. A journalist from the LA Times that saw a screening of the film mentioned said: "There is Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin and Space Mountain, Tiki Room and teacups, princesses and a Main Street parade. At one point, Epcot Center blows up." . Film premise: "In a world of fake castles and anthropomorphic rodents, an epic battle begins when an unemployed father’s sanity is challenged by a chance encounter with two underage girls on holiday."
-The ever-rumored 'Roger Rabbit' sequel is said to be back on.
-Drew Struzan, the artist of the very famous STAR WARS posters, is said to be in talks with Disney/LucasFilms for the next trilogy.
