I definitely hop in place to the beat of Till the World Ends 8-)
Dontcha wish you could work on your list?! DONTCHAAA?? /pussycat dolls want you to update /wtf /nevermind me
Standout Lyrics
"Turn the lights off I feel a spark
Can you make it glow in the dark
Cause I wanna glow in the dark eh eh eh
Turn the lights off it's about to start
Can you make it glow in the dark
Cause I wanna glow in the dark eh eh eh"
I remember first hearing this song as a promo commercial on some station and giving it a few bobs. The song is the twin sister of "He About To Lose Me" from Britney Spears, which was produced by the same man Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins. It's a fun pop song that has a little umph behind it. Carishma has a really nice voice and did a good job with the song.

Kelly Clarkson - "Mr. Know It All"
Album: Stronger Writers: Brian Seals, Ester Dean, Brett James, Dante Jones Producer(s): Brian Kennedy, Ester Dean (co), Dante Jones
Standout Lyrics
"Mr. Play Your Games
Only got yourself to blame
When you want me back again
But I ain't falling back again
'Cause I'm living my truth without your lies
Let's be clear baby, this is goodbye
I ain't comin' back tomorrow"
This is a very smart choice by Kelly and her team to release to kick off the new era. The song is catchy and shows us glimpses of the Kelly that we all fell in love with in the "Breakaway" era. The chorus like it does for most Pop tracks is what leads the charge in assaulting our ears with pure gold. I'm very pleased with what I am seeing from her so far and hope she continues to pick up steam. I nearly lost hope with Kelly.

Bruno Mars "It Will Rain"
Album: The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 1: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack Writers: Bruno Mars, Matthias Bell, Philip Lawrence, Ari Levine Producer(s): The Smeezingtons
Standout Lyrics
"I'll never be your mother's favorite
Your daddy can't even look me in the eye
Oooh if I was in their shoes, I'd be doing the same thing
Saying there goes my little girl
Walking with that troublesome guy
But they're just afraid of something they can't understand
Oooh well little darling watch me change their minds
Yea for you I'll try, I'll try, I'll try, I'll try
I'll pick up these broken pieces 'til I'm bleeding
If that'll make it right"
I truly adore this man. He has such a good voice and his ability to create hit after hit after hit is astonishing. I really don't think people give this man enough credit for how good of a musician he is. Obviously, the Grammy's know wassup', but I hope more people will start to talk about him. He's too talented and successful of an artist not to have a huge fanbase.
Standout Lyrics
"I fly with the stars in the skies,
I am no longer trying to survive,
I believe that life is a prize,
But to live doesn’t mean you’re alive,
Don’t worry bout me and who I fire
I get what I desire it’s my empire
And yes I call the shots I am the umpire"
it's so refreshing to see a successful female rapper doing well on the charts again. I'm a fan of Left-Eye, Missy Elliot, Eve, Queen Latifa, and so on, so it's refreshing to see a female MC doing well for herself in this Pop-driven music industry. She's quirky, nice, and talented, the woman has a bright future ahead of herself. Pink Friday was an amazing debut album and I look forward to more records of hers to come.

P!nk - "F****in Perfect"
Album: Greatest Hits... So Far!!! Writers: Pink, Max Martin, Shellback Producer(s): Max Martin, Shellback
Standout Lyrics
"Made a wrong turn, once or twice
Dug my way out, blood and fire
Bad decisions, that's alright
Welcome to my silly life
Mistreated, misplaced, misunderstood
Miss, no way it's all good, it didn't slow me down
Mistaken, always second guessing
Underestimated, look, I'm still around"
Can't believe P!nk finally released a Greatest Hits album. F****in Perfect was part of the inspirational songs that started to take off. In a society that is plagued with low self-esteem, peer pressure, and the battling of inner demons, songs like this are needed to uplift one's spirits. My favorite type of songs are the ones that UPLIFT. The song doesn't rival my favorite Pink track, "Family Portrait", but it's a solid track regardless.

The Black Eyed Peas "Just Can't Get Enough"
Album: The Beginning Writers: he Black Eyed Peas, Joshua Alvarez, Stephen Shadowen, Rodney Jerkins, Julie Frost Producer(s): will.i.am, DJ Ammo, Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins
Standout Lyrics
"Honey got a sexy on steamin
She givin hotness a new mean
Perfection mama you gleamin
Inception you got a brother dreamin dreamin
Damn, baby I'm beamin
I'm tryna holler at you, I'm screamin
Let me love you down this evenin
Love me, love me you know you are my demon"
The Beginning was such a downgrade from THE E.N.D., but I can't blame them for trying to mirror the success of that era which spawned some major international hits. will.i.am truly knows how to make contagious and lethal radio-friendly music and JCGE is no different.
Album: Born This Way Writers: Stefani Germanotta, Jeppe Laursen, Paul Blair, Fernando Garibay Producer(s): Lady Gaga, Jeppe Laursen, Fernando Garibay, DJ White Shadow
Standout Lyrics
"Whether life's disabilities
Left you outcast, bullied or teased
Rejoice and love yourself today
'Cause baby, you were born this way
No matter gay, straight or bi
Lesbian, transgendered life
I'm on the right track, baby
I was born to survive"
"Don't be a drag just be a queen. WTF Gaga? I was too done with her when I first heard the lyrics to this song. It grew on me after awhile because of how catchy it is. I'm such a sucker for an addicting chorus.

Jennifer Hudson - "No One Gonna Love You"
Album: I Remember Me Writers: Rich Harrison Producer(s): Rich Harrison
Standout Lyrics
"Mr. Play Your Games
Only got yourself to blame
When you want me back again
But I ain't falling back again
'Cause I'm living my truth without your lies
Let's be clear baby, this is goodbye
I ain't comin' back tomorrow"
If Adele's music could create a baby, "No One Gonna Love You" is definitely that child. The heartbreak behind the story is very telling and so relatable for those who've went through a breakup. Her video kills me! Those chair scenes are damn near EVERYTHING! JHud really delivered with this track. I don't normally check for her musically outside of Dream Girls, but I'm intrigued now.
Standout Lyrics
"It's a 22, I call her Peggy Sue
When she fits right down in my shoes
What you expect me to do
If you're playing me for a fool
I will lose my cool
And reach for my fire arm"
This track ***** and Rih Rih delivered the goods with a dash of island flavor to it. Everything about this song from the storyline in the lyrics to the reggae influence in the song's structuring. The video was pretty powerful and even gave me an even larger appreciation for it.
