Well, like most of Mariah's albums, too. Whitney's The Bodyguard sold 11 million in the U.S. but was certified 17x Platinum and Shania Twain's Come on Over was certified 20x Platinum and her album only did 14 million in the U.S. You also have to consider music club sales, which aren't counted in Soundscan sales but are counted in shipments and certifications. Writings on the Wall only sold 6.3 million of its 8x Platinum certified album, so it's not that big of a deal.

They did contribute. Everybody basically had verses and Michelle always booked the bridge. Kelly & Michelle can't best Beyoncé but they are vocal beats and can outsing most of the industry.

I believe you, but it's not just one album. when you do that several times your whole discography looks inflated. And I know about music clubs. The number still don't add up.
