My response to your points:
1) She knows how to stir controversy, which is how the art of fame is put to effect. It's the execution which was amiss during "Alejandro." It pushed the envelope too far.
2) It's clear you haven't been looking at the different threads here in the Music section. Ellen, Idol, Oprah? Brace yourself for that "Alejandro" run.
) doesn't mean it's under-performing. All of Gaga's singles have been climbers, except Born This Way. Give it some time.
