No, the real question is, will Ke$ha / Katy be five albums through and still do these numbers?

This week was her last chance. Next week it's going to be RYG.

That has yet to be seen. Regardless, I think many people are surprised Rihanna is able to scrape up so many #1s but can't do huge numbers.

Her numbers are alright for a Pop artists.
I mean, B.o.B got #1 album and he opened with 84k, and he had two huge worldwide hits. And he's a rapper, rappers usually get huge first week numbers.
Rihanna more than doubles B.o.B's numbers but didn't get the #1.

B.o.B is a new artist, though. He's not yet established and didn't have as much hype and industry push as some other new artists (i.e Justin Bieber, Drake). I don't think that's a fair comparison. But I will say that, I do think Rihanna consistency is impressive despite her OK opening numbers. Let's see what happens with LOUD.

I know my following comments will probably turn some heads but ill say them anywayz. its just my opinion.
1. I find Rihannas numbers are consistent and great ! she is gonna open with about 200K and had two smash hits in Only Girl and Whats My Name? ... She is not known as a big album seller yet she has managed to stay consistent congrats to her ! great 1st week and lets hope for some longetivity !!
2. what makes me a bit frustrated is the rihanna fans ( not all , as a matter of fact only a couple ) is that you guys can stand here and say her numbers are great and she is consistent but the fact is that if ANY OTHER ARTIST with two huge hits would have pulled off only 200K first week , you guys would be calling it flops and bashing the artist down... kinda weird dont u think ??? if ANY OTHER ARTIST would be in that same position of Rihanna (meaning not a big album seller yet consistent every album) u guys would never say 200K is good especially with two smash hits !!
thats what disappoints me a bit, the fact that some people are unfair

Pink opened with less than 200k with Funhouse. Like I said, ONLY popstars Britney, Beyonce and Taylor can open with big number nowadays.
Taylor has also support from country and beyonce has also support from Urban, Britney is a special case

True, but Pink is extremely underrated compared to her peers, and in the end, Pink's sales are pretty impressive, moreso than Rihanna's. Rihanna should be doing GaGa's overall sales and Beyonce's first week sales or around it considering the successes of her songs. But like many artists have proven: big hits =/= big album sales.

That's just how some of them work.

Oh, and the reason why GaGa, Beyonce, and Taylor sell so well is because they give listeners the impression and make them believe they are in absolute control of their careers. To this day though, Rihanna, Katy Perry, and Ke$ha are viewed by most people as puppets and are therefore less respected.

Rihanna is generally more popular than P!nk. Some fanbases use the "she's a pop artist" excuse TOO heavily. Rihanna's had enough major hits, and been here long enough to play in the big courtyard. Lady GaGa has proven that. The issue is people don't want to buy a Rihanna album.
