If I'm not mistaken you are arguing that these people deserve to speak their minds because they have the Freedom of Expression, and the frustrated, offended comments here constitute as 'bullying'.

And my counter argument is that if you utilize Facebook, you are responsible for sacrificing your privacy. The Internet is a public place and we have the right to express our views on those posts and yes, even post their names because they chose to make them public.

These comments only exist because of his hateful comments against homosexuals. It's not as if someone negatively forced the gay pride event onto him causing him to retaliate negatively on Facebook towards gays.

This is so important. Nothing, NOTHING is private on the internet. Even "private" profiles. There's technology that can easily be used by the government, employers, college admissions, etc. to break through the barriers.

Oddly enough, there are a few open gay people at my school that I know, and I've never seen any of them get bullied. At least, not to their face.

Guess what, on GagaDaily there was a girl who didn't get admission into University.

Why?

They skimmed her Facebook profile and found on another friend's page a mention of her being...you guessed it

lesbian.

Instead of people on ATRL worrying about us venting our frustrations (for a VERY good reason) at these homophobic flops those same people should be worried about the government monitoring their phone calls and internet activity for no apparent reason.

We don't exactly know how they utilize Facebook though. His status update could just be visible to his friends... Anyway I'm not spending anymore time and energy on this. Hope the picture is taken off or thread gets deleted. Those people mostly don't express their opinion to offend others, they do it cos they actually believe in it and IMO the fact that their opinion came to form this way is a problematique of the mankind not just those individuals. We all should be ashamed.

That's not a rebuttal. You post your opinion on the Internet, a comment on a topic. It does not matter what your settings are - you can expect to be held accountable.

also for the bolded part....

It holds no relevance what their intentions are. They post hate speech on the Internet. They discriminate and insult human beings based on their sexual orientation. They infringe on Human Rights. And no I refuse to be ashamed, I am proud to stand with the homosexuals and support them on a noble cause.

I'm not sure, I think it was a private one...and that's basically the reason they gave her. And because it's private, she can do nothing because they have the right to decide who they educate.
