No one liked Madonna in the 90's here in the US....TBQH... Madonna really struggled in the US then. I think her music was strongest from 1990-1995. Madonna always did well WW.... (whatever that means)

There is also an interesting point Janet made with her comment. Shipped does not equal sold. Over shipping for marketing purposes used to work to some extent but now you can't get stores to carry that much product. Both Britney Spears and Madonna overshipped their albums to make it appear they were bigger than they actually were in the US. Those games are over since Billboard has changed the rules to disallow the manipulation of sales/shipment numbers. Now you see these girls struggling without scandals to kill their careers.

They shipped what they estimated to sell.

They new they were gonna sell millions and they'd much rather invest and produce extra than having demand go down from being sold out.

In the U.S of A. Combined? Yes. Though separately, they're pretty much even with sales of Discipline.

Madonna has not now or ever been blacklisted by radio.

Gurl bye. Madonna was blacklisted by radio (and TV) several times during her career for various reasons in various countries. The US ban after the AL controversy is the one she never fully recovered from.

The treatment she gets now from radio stations is ageist, I agree with that.

Not only Janet's
