Yes, she can. That's how good business works, you don't push something that people simply don't like. Stopping the ARTPOP era and moving on for the tour was the smartest thing she's done all era.
No, fans do it more than the haters, actually. I've gone toe-to-toe with several "fans" for constantly calling her fat and saying she needs to lose weight.
No, I don't expect fans to drop expectations, but it's half a year later and it's time to move on. If this were 2013, these meltdowns would be justified, but it's not, the era is over.
