You're drunk, right? X is the worst piece of garbage she's ever put her name too.
But then again most of you all don't realize that Kylie '88 is an almost perfect pop record. I forget my audience some times.
I don't understand the dislike for X? To me, it seemed like the perfect progression for her to make at that stage in her career.
I appreciated the way she was able to marry experimental club sounds, yet still retain the classic Kylie elements such as her staple euphoric melodies. All the tracks on X are polished and sleek, so when the harder electronic elements come in they really pack a punch. It's a great contrast to hear.
Is this still relevant to the conversation or have we moved onto sexuality now?
But I'm waiting for a response? Why even bring that comment up though
Madonna has maintained a more consistent level of artistic control throughout her career. She's written much more of her music than Kylie, she's had more input in her videography and performances, and she used to have a well-defined vision for her career trajectory. Some of that has been lost in recent years, but today's shortcomings don't erase her legacy.
Madonna's best albums are highly-regarded by critics, unlike Kylie's. She's won more awards, made her mark on many "best of all-time" lists and is seen by many as the greatest female pop star ever. Madonna's career record sales dwarf Kylie's. She is seen as a video innovator and a boundary-pusher for women in general. Before Madonna, I don't think there was ever a woman with such a strong voice in music. It wasn't just that she was unique or fearless--she was forceful and she took no ********. She wasn't the first strong woman in music, obviously, but she was the pinnacle of her breed. Madonna made it cool.

It's happening with Hard Candy and probably with MDNA. I still think Kylie's 00s >>>>>>>>>>>>> Madonna's 00s.

I agree but that doesn't mean that some artist along the way couldn't have been inspired by previous singers from 60's etc. I think people give her too much credit imo. I mean Whitney Houston had a voice in music as well. So it goes both ways. Their were other women in the industry that pushed the boundaries but were overlooked. Some could argue that Whitney pushed the boundaries for minorities in the industry. All while receiving the same critic acclaim as Madonna! My point is don't you think Kylie's makes music so that it can be recognizes as her own. She's not trying to follow or be the next Madonna.
Eli..... I get your point though I heavily disagree. All of them feed into gay stereotypes no matter the degree or severity of it. Kylie >>>>>>> the others
<33333 you.
So you're saying that all of them pander to stereotypes to different degrees?

Well yes, Whitney Houston is given credit for breaking color barriers. the only thing Eli was saying was that Madonna was much riskier/experimental and therefore given credit for it.
lol I could pull this stuff out of my ass for days.

Many people think Music and COADF are up there with Madonna's best. Personally, American Life is my favorite M album depending on the day, so I can't agree with you. And neither X nor Aphrodite is distinctly superior to Hard Candy.
But they're very COMPARABLE. More than they've ever been in any other decade. Madonna was doddering along being angry during American Life while Kylie was enjoying her new global stardom and putting out some next-level dance ****. COADF was sort of a reaction to Kylie, I think, and it just clicked.

Whitney didn't have a voice. She had a VOICE, but her label called the shots. She's a legend for different reasons.
I see. So you weren't asking why someone might say Madonna is better, but just trying to say that they're too different. I get it. I don't want to turn this into a Madonna thread anyway, so let's stop.
