If you accept that this album is more of an acquired taste then you should accept its not gonna do so well commercialy. Instead of making up every other excuse in the book about why its not selling as expected globally.
Bottom line; its having disappointing sales WW because majority of those who bought BTD are just not tempted by her new music. It really is as simple as that no matter how many other excuses her fans wanna throw up.

First of all, you are on a stan forum. People who stan hard will always, ALWAYS talk about their fave being in some kind of "21" demensions without really respecting what the artist wants or understanding the actual sales climate, trends, etc.
And no, the album is not a disappointment. With the time and money they have invested in this, it's doing fine. Pulling off BTD was way more expensive.
And what you are insisting on is actually not really important to people who a) enjoy her music and b) the artist itself.
It would have been way easier for her to follow the old route. She is not interested in that. She is not interested in heavy exposure. She will release the material she is confident in and it will find its way to people who care about it. The rest will stay away. People have to come to terms that LDR is not a promo machine like some others, racing to climb the top of the pop olymp.
She is selling and she isn't going to fade away. Others have to pull off way more effort to get her sales.
